Alright, some of my favorite mods for Freelancer when i played offline were ones for ships. Admittedly the Firefly was one of them... but so was the Swordfish and Hammerhead. I noticed that Discovery has the Firefly and it got my hopes up that it might also have the Swordfish or Hammerhead floating around. low and behold. seems not =(
Anyways, decided to download a few modding tutorials and snag a few freeware tools or trials and give it a shot.
This is my Take on the Hammerhead that Jet Black flew in Cowboy Bebop.
I know this isn't a perfect replication. There seems to be a lack of pictures of the Hammerhead that i could track down for reference. so This is mainly off low res pictures and memory.
Hoping to submit this for future versions of Discovery cause id love to fly it online.
This is a general layout of the design I've been working on for the past few days on and off. First model I've made for a game so point out stuff that you think works well or things that you might not like.
Currently i mocked it up with 4 front faced guns. missile and Cruise Disrupt or Torp. 1 Under mounted Turret. Counter Measures and mines.
i could use input on if its possible to align the Front mount guns to fire out of the 4 barrels or am i gonna have to scrap that idea and just place a blank spot for them to mount themselves?

Well, first of all, Welcome to the forums.
Your first post being a contribution is wonderful.
Now, about the ship.
We're trying to avoid imports now, and all the current ones in the game are placeholders that are being slowly replaced with originals. So, I suggest taking the model and making it even more your own, rather than an attempted replica of another ship.
Take a look at a few ships in SP, try to get a feel for the Freelancer style, and modify.
That's just my opinion, though.
Oh, and you don't want to model guns, because all the weapons have their own models that are added when you equip them in game.
No freelancer design style, awkward shape, is there even any engine and amazingly box (not boxy) design makes me wonder just... why do we want a replica of an import already?
Heh can we get some<strike>thing</strike> to remove the guns on the...whats it called? Its a Civy fighter, black, and looks like it has two white cannons on it... Varyag? Vespa? Im out of names.

Thanks for all the constructive criticism. As far as design goes, what about it wouldn't fit? maybe i can modify it to be more in line. So any input on why it isn't Freelancer Design style would be well appreciated
As far as the engines go, in the picture you can see the 4 engines on the back.
As far as the "box" design, the Hammerhead is very similar to that as far as the "boxy" look goes.
As far as a replica of an import... i don't know what you mean. As far as I've seen in game and on the wiki, the Hammerhead isn't in Discovery yet. so it would be the import, as far as a replica goes, id love to see one that was more close to original, but this is my take on it.
I thought...
1. Hammerhead=bounty hunter fighter... strangely, I dont recall a hammerhead mk II, and it certainly dont... follow the line of the hammerhead...
2. I had a misery understand where was the front...
3. as mentionned many time: we don't want import anymore. Creating a ship inspired from other designs is fine, but blatant attempt at replicating simply... is a no go.
