Finally ATi presented a new lineup of video hardware.
X1000 is the name of the series, actual video cards will be named X1300 (basic), X1600 (mid-range) and X1800 (high-end).
"The new ATI graphics architecture features an advanced shader engine with DirectX 9 Shader Model 3.0 support and additional Avivo technology designed to improve video playback quality and provide hardware-assisted H.264 and VC-1 high-definition video decoding." - Gamespot
This time ATi emphasized shader performance, which should be even better than GeForce 7800. According to early tests, performance in games available to this day is more or less equal to 7800. But Shader Model 3.0 games theoretically should perform better with ATi X1000 installed. This makes X1000 the best choice for a number of upcoming games (including Oblivion).
