I was trading with my Zoner Guard IFF/ID, when, just in front of Gran Canaria, a Corsair bomber tried to pirat me... The kind of pirat you know, saying "3 mill or dai olol". I explained he was a bit oorp to try pirating a Zoner in his home system, and worst, just behind the planet ! (I was at 500 m of the dock ring). He didn't say anything, send me a torpedo to blow up my shield (-_-') then go away to pirat another Zoner ship who were just out of Canaria...
My question is : Corsairs are allowed to pirats us in O-49 ? If not, can we report them ?
PS : I am not a Zoner trader whore who is claiming no one can pirat us, i'm ok with pirating since it's RP and nice played.
Do Corsairs exist and pirate in Omega 49? Yep. Fact of life.
Not that long ago, it wasn't uncommon to have npcs demanding your gold at least once on the jaunt from Lanzarote to Canaria...
(I'm talking npcs here, of course, but therein lies the precedent.)
However, any pirate interfering with Zoners runs the risk of retaliation in some form or another; and if done within a Zoner NFZ, (...which I would like to see standarzied for ALL Zoner facilities), then there is further risk of being immortalized on the CoZ's "Most Wanted" List.
So, can they do it? Yes. Can they do it with impunity? Maybe.. maybe not.
While its OORP for any pirate to pirate outside a station thats eather firing on them, is lawful or is the same ID/Tag as the player there pirating AFAIK its allowed by the server.
Players should be safe from pirating if there right outside a station(As long as its not unlawful), if the weapon damage of stations/planets was realistic no pirate would be able to sit still and take the station/planet's fire while calmly pirating someone. But based on the way the mod is, they can calmly just go right upto an enemy station(Station would in RL turn enemy if they tryed to pirate someone with the same ID/Tag as the station), sit there and take absolutly no damage.
Well.... he shouldn't do it in front of the planet, NPCs should be shooting at him, and a lot of game mechanich problems with that. But, I think he can pirate you in Omega 49.

Thats exactly the problem, station and planet defence power need to be bosted ......a lots,i mean the power of 20 battleship hitting a target at the same time, something who cant allow any ennemy to survive around a ennemy planet or station.

IIRC if you pirate near a station your ment to fire on NPC's in the area if you are not already red with them(Which is pointless as you take 0 damage from NPC's generaly).
problem is, that for example in omega 49, youcan see 10 corsair npc, and 4zoners npc in front of gran canaria, so the npc will shoot who.corsair pirate or refusing zoner trader?
If I start seeing more Independent Traders or traders of house corporation IDs trading in the border and edge worlds, I'll think twice about pirating a Zoner (or Zoner Guard).
But until that happens, I'm treating you like traders ... because you're trading.
I am sick and tired of traders thinking they're being cute by going through all the trouble of getting a Zoner Guard rep and ID just so they can powertrade through the edge worlds. If you have the roleplay of a Zoner, fine. But please don't insult my intelligence.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
I'm not entirely implicating myself here, but -which- NPCs were there? Zoner NPCs or Bounty Hunter NPCs?
