Perfect attitude to have, that is a slightly pissed off one which pretty much says "I do not believe anything you say is important and no-one cares". Perfect in the sense that it alienates the person it is used against resulting in more thread being created instead of the original issue being addressed.
(Personally, I just think Baltar wants to go on about Arms Dealers and how they are OoRP.)
@BaltarOn Friday, 10:30pm my time I read the new Admin Notice: Anti-F1 Changes thread and noticed that there was an off topic discussion about Arms Dealers and their RP status running in that thread. I posted a warning to keep the conversation on topic. I.E. directly related to the new FLHook plugin.
]Guys, topic. Keep to it.[/quote]
Note the time. I then went to bed.
When I woke up I found that my warning had been ignored by several people, who had continued to post off-topic comments while I was asleep. At 8:45am my time, to keep the discussion on-track, I removed them from public eyes and posted that I was enforcing rule 4 of the Forum Rules.

I notified the other moderators with a link and explained that I had removed some posts, and all that commented agreed that it was good. I then left for work.
I came back to find that in my absence you had thrown, what can only be coined, as a hissyfit. Your previous posts were a tangent topic, the ones following my second notice were simply off topic ranting about how out of control and abusive I am.
You then decided to ignore one admin's warning to stay on-topic, and insult another moderator. Read Forum Rule #3.
And yes, I could have created a split thread. But as you obviously did not care enough to create one, I didn't either. And furthermore your posts were not the only ones made invisible. I didn't do anything about the posts previous to my notice as they were not -that- disruptive and keeping them around gave context to my warning. It was only after you took personal offense to my standard "keep the forum in line" that a well-reasoned discussion about the new Hook command got turned into a mud pit. Really, it doesn't matter who got the last word in. It just doesn't.
And although I might hate myself in the morning, I'm going to say re-read this. It's spot on.

Arms Dealers and Nuclear Devices are on topic.
Going further into the RP aspects, price of codenames and how hard it is to get them as well as the RP, or lack of it, depending on your viewpoint, of Arms Dealers adheres to Rule 25 and 26.
Warning were issued and supposedly ignored, then posts were deleted.

Well ... apparently I personally am disrupting threads with off-topic issues ... issues that I personally did not initiate. But because its me posting ... I'm the one who gets the ax in the thread.
' Wrote:Personally, I just think Baltar wants to go on about Arms Dealers and how they are OoRP.
I do consider most of them OORP ... JihadJoe gave me some good RP about his that has given me hope that there might be some RP in the Arms Dealer profession. But from most of what I've encountered online ... and in the forums ... these guys are all about the severely overly inflated prices (not to mention wreck camping).
But that's NOT what I wanted out of that thread. It turned into an Arms Dealer issue at post #110. I made a single comment about Arms Dealers and everybody piled on. So I continued the discussion and found my post was deleted BEFORE the warning was given by mwerte.
What got me REALLY hot under the collar is that the warning did NOT precede one of my posts. Had he let that post stand before that warning was given I would have dropped the issue ... but he's chosen to make it about me.
@ mwerte: I would have dropped this long ago if you hadn't deleted the post BEFORE the warning. I hit submit ... re-read what I wrote ... went on to other threads ... went to bed. When I went back to that thread later ... I find the warning you left ... NO PROBLEM. Then I look around (forward and backward) ... where the heck was the post I left earlier ... BEFORE your warning? It was gone. Had you just left that one post alone this would not be an issue with me. And you didn't even leave me a note saying my post was removed because it was off topic. If you had just left me a note saying I was off topic I wouldn't have the issue of that one being removed. But I got nothing. Can you possibly understand where I'm coming from? Even remotely? There was ONE post that I left before your warning. Please go back and find that one. Who knows ... maybe we hit submit at the same time and you interpreted it as me posting after you ... but I did make a post that was before the warning. THAT post is the only one that has me annoyed.

Noted. (It tends to have that effect.)
Does that mean it was about me?:P
Baltar, make another thread in a couple of days time about Arms Dealers and the Sirius Stock Exchange when this has settled down a bit. People will be more receptive.
I never touched any posts above my 10:35pm warning.

What time zone are you in mwerte? That post of mine at 12:31am could actually be 10:31pm your time (4 minutes before your warning). Please forward my invisied post to me via PM. Cause I swear your warning was NOT posted before I submitted my missing post.

I really don't feel like creating another Arms Dealer thread. I've tried to post role play offers to Arms Dealers to get them to drop the price for me ... even to allow me to open up a payment plan to make the purchase. All I ever got was the equivalent of "shut up and color." After several attempts to "role play" my purchase I got fed up and concluded they weren't interested in role playing with me.
Yes the discussion on the other thread got off topic a bit ... I admit that ... but my objection has nothing to do with the admins/moderators cleaning up the discussion. My objection is to HOW they go about doing it. I do NOT like seeing my posts just disappearing. If they get removed, I would expect notice that my specific post was removed. This has to do with showing respect to the author of the post. That's ALL my complaint is about.
JUST LEAVE ME A FLIPPING NOTE WHEN YOU DELETE, MOVE OR HIDE MY POSTS.
If a Moderator is going to make a post vanish, then the authors should be notified.
I have alot of example where I needed to site a post that I made on this forums.........just to have some of my 'history' be gone with no reason or note left.
Getting to the point that I have to back up posts from this forums, unto my own forums.
