[21:36:57] Joe (Jihad) says: class 10 shield
four class 9 guns
1 class 5 turret (forwards)
torp slot.
Then balance the turn around that.
I would be quite glad about that, since, the Were is a half bomber, I soloed two on a defender without loosing my shileds, outturning them and hitting their fat sides while they turned.
The grey cannot down any shield if the opponent knows what is a vertical strafe binding and if you drop a deb in there, you can simply shoot with a peashooter instead.
The only loadout that was good with a Grey was all debs and a mini razor.
Tell me then, when was the last time you seen a rogue fly a pirate VHF/hf/lf.
The proper HF variant was not really tested, that's why the rather radical change wasn't included in first step.
' Wrote:Only thing that was bad was powerplant. With HF powerplant it has problems maintaining both Sammaels and Trefoils. But just a little alteration in power usage of these guns would solve the problem.
It's much easier to change one ship that is already being changed, than guns which are used by at least 4 other ships.

@ Sindroms with those stats it would get Sabre powerplant (one step down) and handling similar to Stinger.

I once had a Hyena, after I was being killed withouth even seriously harming the enemies shield iabout 11 times in a row I upgraded to a Greyhound. 1 Deb and 3 Sammaels were my loadout. Fine, I could finally get through have the Shield, still died about 20 times. With Piracy...I even got more money in a Bloodhound than the Greyhound. Probably because the people showed mercy and didnt shoot at me.
Making the VHF into a HF seriously failed, just with changing the shields and then leaving it. Seriously who had the Idea?

The reason why Greyhound was talked about in the first place was a number of people (excluding me) complaining how hard to hit/kill it is and that it should be made more vulnerable.
Greyhound was never good for pirating (and never really meant to), just like you don't use LF to kill GBs. Werewolf and Barghest are the very best when it comes to pirating. But yes they are not the very best when it comes to pirating and shooting Navy/Armed Forces at the same time.

Switchblade (imo) is the best Outcast ship there is for dogfighting, and you see a few people flying it.
Decurion you don't see so often. Leadcrow put it to very good use though.
I used to fly a werewolf and it was a wonderful little thing for piracy, only thing I couldn't kill was the Shire, solo.
Greyhound compared to these, is just not nice to fly. You said its agility is high - it doesn't feel that way, and praets were just about keeping up with me on turns. A fulldeb, minirazor set up is probably the best because trefoils are just horrible. Not sure why, maybe it's the range. But horrible.
EDIT: An LF dropping screamers on a Gunboat's face and interrupting its engine kill with cruise disruptors? Maybe it can't solo a Gunboat, but its nowhere near useless.
' Wrote:It's also the smallest one besides the Bloodhound..
I can't believe you used small and bloodhound in the same sentance without the word "not"
Oh look, our LF and HF are bigger than the Liberty Navy's heavier VHF!
' Wrote:Doesnt even the Bloodhound have a turret?
Only one of two LFs from Vanilla with a turret, I think. Only the Dagger had a forward facing one. But the Bloodhound/Hyena now have forward facing turrets.
The Hyena also has x3 class 9s and x1 class 5 turret. Giving it the same fire power as the Greyhound for a larger size and more manuverability.

You're COMPLAINING about how HARD the Greyhound is to KILL?
What the hell?
The Greyhound's NICHE was that it was small, fast, not very good in 1 v 1, but that ship was GOD in GROUP ENGAGEMENTS where it was SUPPOSED to be impossible to hit. So you're NERFING ships for doing what they're SUPPOSED to do now?
Quote:In actuality the Greyhound is not a Heavy Fighter, despite being classed as such, but more of a hybrid of Heavy and Very Heavy combining some of the elements of both. In essence the designers created a less heavily armored and armed ship that is able to out turn most very heavy fighters.
That's the reason the Greyhound had low fire power, because it was hard to kill. Now you're making it easy to kill but not giving it more fire power?
The Greyhound is roughly the size of the Guardian. The Guardian also has the body of a Heavy Fighter (The Defender). The Guardian turns slower, but has one extra gun. That sounds like balance to me.
The Greyhound is easier to hit than ever before because of it's larger model, yet the Greyhound did not recieve any compensation for this stat-wise, instead it recieved an armour nerf as well.
The Greyhound needs a complete rebalance to incorporate the new size of the model, if anything it should be faster than it was before.
Remeber the old fightis with the greyhounds. In my freelancer sabre... killed 2 mollies in a row, and they pilots of them really were good. Only they can take out the shield is razor, and that huge disadvantage.
Remeber the fight with mollies at omega 3 back in my OPG, dont know how I've done it, but greyhound got instakilled by razor.
The ship size is quite big, has 4 guns, turning speed, damn its slower then some of the VHF's and now it gets classs9 shields.? I do not fly greyhound my self, but from what I've seen earlier it is realy underpower ship, and now you nerfed it even more?... damn I feel pitty for rogues and their ships :/
Besides mollies fight corsairs. Now corsair HF is almost better at everything than greyhound.
