Openlancer is NOT playable yet, however we have made substantial progress towards that goal and have made the first Starblazer maintenence release, availible here.
This is a screenshot of our progress.
Notable new features
A functional menu
A new logo
Normalmapping and HDR shader have been implemented (visible on metal plates in screenshot)
Database engine is functional and working.
Code now resides in one EXE
Less things are hardcoded, allowing for more flexibility. By the next release, nothing except the location of the config file will be hardcoded.
Elder Alexander Cross Wrote:Darkness is a friend, an ally. Darkness allows us to understand others, to see what they value when they believe no one else is looking. It allows us to be honest with ourselves, to express those values that we would disavow in the light. The light blinds us. It is only in the dark that we see clearly, and there is a great dark hidden among these worlds
Openlancer is a free, open-source, community driven developmental effort to create a new space-sim in the spirit of Freelancer. Its primary features are a fully explorable game world and a dynamic universe. It has inherent mod support and a list of features 50 pages long.
