since the last 2 versions weren t really too popular - i have revised the idea of a civilian style gunboat again
to explain what i put into the image:
the red "thing" is a pilot. thats the size the pilot will have compared to the ship. - next to the isometric view, you can see a kingfisher HF. the gunboat is around 3 times as long as the fighter - and can easily be considered a "large" gunboat. ( however its rather slim - and compact - so it might still be a "harder to hit target" for its size - like a liner )
about the model itself:
the whole idea comes a little from the AP series ( for those unfamiliar with that - the AP series are the BHG contracted ships ) - a semi modular design. that basicly means that - in RP ... the AP "might" have started to also build ships for a larger market - but that possibility might as well be problematic, cause a civilian gunboat would for the greater part be seen with people the BHG fights with a passion. - so maybe it should just be a "no name" producer.
it ought to look robust - but also rather cheap. - it lacks chassis parts - making it look less fancy than many other ships ( especially zoner ships )
but its still not "ugly" as one might say ( at least i think so ) - it features a unique and very large glass cockpit for the single pilot - reason for that is - that three optical sensors are also housed within the canopys room. it also allows for a much better visual - a feature a "civilian" might appreciate - even if he is flying a half-military vessel.
below the front section ( barely visible ) is a module with a habitat. - it is pretty much the size of a cargo container of a train - and is meant to be somewhat like a living quarter for the crew - which is supposed to be 2 or 3 people max.
I like that. Looks cheap and bulky. No Credits invested in the Style, it even looks like a Camara XD I like the Idea with the Cameras inside the Cockpit. It's an awesome Work. Nice Ship and probably cool to fly with.
I also love the Idea with that AP Line, are we seeing more of those?
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
Honest opinion... Looks like a Corsair GB mated with a BHG BS, and this was the result.
Sorry, but going to put a 'no' on this one for my opinion. Doesn't look Zoner at all, and I can't see any similarities between it and the other Zoner capships.

I don't think this gb has anything to do with the Zoners. According to Jinx's description, it's a civilian gb, possibly manufactured by AP (BH's manufacturing arm).
Looks good, Jinx. Kind of a bare bones approach - no frills, all business.
Which, in this case, isn't necessarily a good thing.
Interesting concept, but it's not really similar to any other ships in Freelancer, especially with the canopy the way it is.
Civ and Zoner have many similarities, and the Zoners are the largest producers of most civilian lines. House corporations spend most of their resources on their house's military. I think modelling the civilian GB after the Zoner ships, the Eagle, the Falcon, and Griffin, would be the best idea. Having something that looks like it came from a joint BHG-Corsair project doesn't fit.
