First off. This isn't just a rage. Am I mad? Yes. Do I have a right to be? Yes. ( I was on my merc!)
There was a HF battleship near WP. He had one fighter escort.
Fran and I engaged the fighter due to it having a bounty by Liberty. We halted the engagement long enough for an LMC to get some pilots then he told us to shoot the HF down.
I understand you have a problem with our weaponry. I don't care. RP about it. The Navy didn't seem to care we had Outcast weaponry. We were helping them. Should they? Not my call.
My beef? Your fighter pilot brought the fight to within 50m of West Point. It caused me to have the Navy turn red. Not a big deal, though very poor RP. Flying that close to a enemies' base is suicide.
So I back off and allow the mess of others to keep up the fight. I never broke out of 10k. I tabbed out to check something and I ended up getting shot down by a Liberty Navy cap ship patrol. I was at least 5k from the fight.
I asked the [LN] on hand if I could re enter the fight because an NPC killed me. They said yes. I then gave an engagement notice to test you guys. I was told I wasn't allowed to re enter the fight. Kinda crappy? Yes. I however stayed out. Only staying close enough to watch as I wasn't allowed to help.
What do you go and do? Shot me while I am sitting still next to a jump gate. When I had made it clear I was a mere observer per your request. (Forget the fact using a Liberty jump gate with two Liberty capitals after you being waaaaaay ooRP.)
Adding to that, you took a bloody dreadnought to right on top of West Point and proceeded to whine a bit when a couple of ships plus the Leavenworth, the LPI dreadnought from ye olde 4.83 days, opened fire. Hell, we didn't even open fire until you were about 10-15K from the gate. The other dreadnought present, the Disneyland, didn't even fire so much as a primary turret at you. We saw your folks shooting our folks. That, to me, and to the rest of us, means you want a fight.
Don't want a fight next time? Control your folks and DON'T PARK A BLOODY BATTLESHIP ON TOP OF WEST POINT.

Good points. Guy in the dreadnought is getting yelled at and demoted as soon as he wakes up.
As for our fighter pilot being "too close to the enemy base", if you've got a problem with that, too bad. You won't exactly see factions avoiding this sort of thing regardless of who they are, unless stationary NPC battleships become involved. It's just the way things go in large skirmishes.
You are *not* allowed to reenter a fight just because the [LN] say so. Ask for permission from the faction you were engaged with first. I'm sure the people in question would've said it was fine, but you didn't ask them about it at all.
If you were reengaged afterwards, it was most likely a miscommunication - you could've just kindly PM'd the fighter and told him you were just observing and not reentering the fight, as messages get lost easily in the heat of combat.
Well.... y'know, as much as I dislike capital ships of any sort in New York (both sides, even, but that's just silly bias on my part) it's clearly stated that observers in fights are fair game, sorry to say.
Also, the reengagement thing and all that. See above.
That incident is definitely not worthy of a rage thread. If anything, you makes you look like a fool.
Edit: Was it a mistake? Sure, but no need to get so offended. Everyone makes mistakes, even official factions. Just like you made the mistake of alt-tabbing and getting yourself killed. Everyone needs to accept Discovery will never be 100% perfect. Were human after all.
Not the best experience by the sounds of things but the only one worthy of pointing out publicly might be that Dreadnaught thing.
Aside from that, it's just a bad experience.

If I complained I apologize. Just a few things I pretended wouldn't happen when I should have known they would happen.
FYI: Job's got SQL melted in to my brain...
PS: Sorry, Serevun... After the LSF tried to get people to block the Jump Gate so I couldn't get away, seeing you moving towards it wasn't the best picture (I just shot at any fighter I saw moving towards the gate to clear it off so I could jump)
The quote's an FYI to the incident. If you ask Richter he'll confirm that I tried to contact you afterwards about what had happened as I was speaking to him in PM on the latter half of the encounter.
@ Kaz: Us being attacked, with me constantly trying to offer a prisoner transfer, with an immediate peaceful departure means we want a fight? If anything it was everyone else who wanted a fight. Part of the reason I was even on Ven'gyr was to try and get in some anti-bomber/fighter practice in Conn but the server crashed and there was noone in Conn afterwards so I left.

Your opinion. I would have gladely posted this in your feedback thread. There however isn't one.
About reengagement. I did ask. I asked my side. I then gave notice to your side to test the water. Your fighter pilot said he didn't care if it was an NPC death, I died and he didn't want me back.
I accepted this and stayed out per his request. I was then shot down by the battleship while I sat idle watching.
@ Raisu
No problem. I was indeed mad. It isn't a big deal and I ask that HF get a feedback thread. I will admit up until that point I had a blast. I did find some of the things odd but I did have fun. I expect a follow through on your threats though. Don't feed me empty RP threats in game and not follow through.
I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say that giving an engagement notice to "test the water" is never a good idea. Just be sure to ask the opposing side next time as well.
Truth. Put up a feedback thread so I can rage in that if there ever is a next time. :D In hind sight I should have PM'd or Skype'd you up about it. I though am a mere human, a fool as it seems, for having an emotion. How very human of me. Guess we all are fools no? Anyways, I was mad. Big deal. I had fun for awhile until it got spoiled. It was spoiled by mistake so no harm done. You got my message and I learned from my own mistakes. Win, win in my book.
