insurance, tax, cash for living - it's all a swindling from a pirates, to be honest I pay sometimes but I'm sick of unreasonable price what they say or force to pay.
I fly a Rhino - empty, and some pirate, say that I must pay 500 000 for life - good damm - even my ship is not worth that!! so I refuse to pay - so I was blasted.
Next example?
Camara - 630 of Neon or something cheap - some pirate tell me to pay 1 M - for what i ask? all cargo in best place is worth about 900 000 tops.
I refuse to pay - so I was blasted.
So i ask and wonder - maybe they do this specially, becouse They want to blast, smash somebody, and search for reason.
I'm not telling that all pirates are the same - but think about prices for a god sake!
Yes, that is very un-reasonable, and generally against pirate etiquette to pirate small ships. As a rule of thumb I don't pirate anything smaller than 3k cargo, and I always ask for 1mil at most 2mil, never more.
EDIT - Welcome to the forums BTW! [Shameless-self-promotion] If you want, join a Trade Faction! Such as Ageira! I hear they have good dental and might help you by giving you a ship, if you take a contract ofcourse![/Shameless-self-promotion]
"pirates killed my mama, stole my cash, and spat on me"
they're pirates ^^
Edit:
coming from EVE, I can say the pirates here are very easy and nice. You guys honestly dont know how good you have it. In this game when a pirate kills you, you don't even lose ur ship.:nyam:
I've seen this happening many times...One time I was in Pennsylvania with my little Researcher I saw a pirate, taxing those new "miners" there for 500k Credits - I mean what the...? He was although a very "aggressive" pirate with a "CREDITZ OR DAI!"-playstyle.
I find that highly inappropiate behaviour, I know it "isn't really against the rules", but it's just not right in my eyes. Some pirates are just crazy with their demands, taxing traders and miners for horrendous amounts or even demanding/stealing all their freight.
But - we had this already, more than one time. So, it's just repeating, isn't it? Pirates, get some reasonable prices.
Taxing extremly much so that you will have to shoot the other one is terrorism and somehow abuse of piracy.
Well I have to admit that the examples you give are pretty poor form. Having said that, I've asked for 500k from a miner full of gold and got told to go away and die (close enough).
I guess some people don't know a bargain when they see one.
Mind you, I've been asked for $2 million when I had a cargo hold full of scrap.....in a field full of scrap.... and he was surprised at the response he got. Ho hum
I sometimes ask freighters for 100k or 10 units of cargo, always embedded in RP, trying to involve my 'victim' and show him how things are supposed to work on this server. If they pay/comply I send them some cash when the encounter is over and thank them for the RP.
Demanding more credits than the ship of a freighter-trader is worth is bad form and the lowest level a pirate can drop to.
But then again, I also pirate n freighters, which is great fun.

Likewise.
I mean, I don't get much by pirating, I do it for the soul:P. So why not pirate a Freighter for some really small cash?
So yeah, I don't normally do that, BUT... Pirates don't just "tax" your cargo, you know? They demand cash from you to spare you your life. Are you going to negotiate with a kidnapper that he can only demand what you have with you in the wallet?? But that's purely hypothetical. All I'm saying is, you don't have it as bad as you think...
When will certain individuals finally understand that this is not crappy-eve, nor do we apply their standards here?
But to stay on topic: yes, there are many unreasonable demands out there and yes, some are doing it to get their cheap shot. However, Nitram has a point, except that he's trying to promote the wrong faction *silently points to his own signature*
