' Wrote:To be perfectly honest, I think when I originally wrote the proposal I got Hogosha confused with FA. I'm not that familiar with the Kusari houses as I could be, simply because most of my faction isn't welcome up there too much.
Yeah the Hogosha wouldn't really be hostile by default. The FA would, as long as that's sorted on the ID I love this.
Awesome work guys, this is going to make my AI just that much more fun to play!
Please either rename this ID or add text to it that establishes even more clearly that this ID is not necessary or warranted for AIs run by various factions. Right now a lot of people seem to be very, very confused as to what it actually does... thus the questions about "so I can't fly an Order with an AI cruiser?" and such.
Other than that, it's progress, and it suits my roleplaying desires. Yippee!
I would love it if there were more choices or flexibility with the AI ships...
The choice between the fast little drone with the interesting weapons and the Cruiser with sadly generic weapons is a little limited if you want to use an AI ship...
I would love to mount AI weapons on another vessel other than a drone... some ships actually LOOK rather AI...
The Mafic for instance looks awesome for an AI ship and even some Hacker ships would look the part...
If there were restrictions in place such as only using AI weapons and equipment on certain ships it would make for a more personalised RP...
I could see Lane hackers using AI technology to aid them in there trafficking of information and 'hacking'...
I would also imagine AI's utilising other ship designs and mounting there own technology on them... creating hybrids and in some cases re-designs of existing ships...
I was planning on RPing a Cyborg character (not the ones from star-trek) something like out of Ghost in the shell... using a relatively average class but good looking ship with AI technology equipment...
I might ask for special permission or just RP an exploring drone, but this game is about enjoying RP and it would make my day:D
Quote:Lane Hackers partly owe their origin to the Ames Research studies, which predicted that a huge storm would disrupt the system in 680. On the advice of Ageira technitians, Liberty financed a costly alternative trade lane through Galileo. When the storm didn't materialize, Ageira tried to redeem itself by ruthlessly ousting an elite development team and several executives, who re-emerged as the core of the northern Lane Hackers.
I'm not sure how that figures into "the Droids took/may take our jobs!" I suppose I see the connection, but it seems superficial.
I don't see a real reason for the AI ID to have enemies aside from the default Nomads, Phantoms, etc. I know we all want for every faction to have consequences and such, but it's not like the AI ID will give access to fantastic powertrading.
