Can I know exactly what weapons were removed? PM would be OK.
Rheinland has a policy that allows two looted weapons since, generally speaking, Rheinland weaponry is sadly below par. Unless they broke this policy, I see no reason for the punishment.
4 Codenames... 2 looted weapons... eh?
Codenames don't need to be changed, people just need to use them sensibly, like they are rare and not easy to find everywhere. I, personally, don't like seeing codies used in excess simply because they aren't supposed to be in excess of supply either. Sure, they are in excess supply, most Banks having 30+ code guns, but I dont like seeing more than 2 on a fighter, regardless of whether the pilot is good with them or not..
I myself use a single BLOODSTONE on my Titan, with 3 salamanca's and 2 colada's (yeah, overkill both on the powerplant and the shield being shot), but I could easily go out of my way to find four archangels or whatever instead, and switch out the Colada's for two Tizona's.
My problem isn't with codename guns, or their stats, but with how common they are.
However, I like the idea of modified codename cannons showing the advance in technology of the houses since when they first had the prototype cannons manufactured. Since you can buy them, they should be sold for around 600-800k if not more, require full green faction guard rep, and should probably have similar stats at different speeds. So if RH ones had 500 speed, then they would be more powerful than the prototype (Firekiss mk III) and the Lib ones would also be stronger at 500 speed (Lavablade VI). Same could be applied to both Bretonia and Kusari aswell.
Well no rheinland craft can mount 4 Codenames and 2 looted weapons..... so what it actually says is that you can mount 4 weapons.

Well you have 3 LVL 10 guns on your ship.... and two of them are of course your own faction ones... no other faction does have it's own LVL10s.
Also for factions that have 600m/s speed on their own weapons.. it's always easy to use just 1-2 codenames without destroying the aim.
Again my 4 Codes have the same damage and energy stats as 5 Firekisses. So I use them and mount a missile on the last remaining slot.
Adding faction specific Codenames as described would be nice yes, but that will probably not come in 4.84.
I think the Blue Blaze as it has a Firekiss sound and a green/blue projectile is a candidate for RH codename already.

What I mean't was that your leader says 2 looted weapons per ship, but you have 4 looted weapons, no?
No other faction has their own level 10 guns, but what other factions have gun mounted shield busters? Ageria are the only ones.
Couple this with the fact that Tizona's and Colada's just aren't Corsair exclusive (no matter how much I want them to be), and that evens out the playing field.
My TBH Titan is the only fighter/bomber character I currently have using a setup including codenames. Partly cause I don't like them because of their refire, but partly also because they should be a lot rarer than they are. I use my TBH Titan to experiment with setups.
Faction Codenames came up too late as an issue, so if it were approved I think we would see them in 4.85.
The Rheinland Military is limited to a certain number of weapons. The weapons below may be used freely, as well as having two "trophy" weapons looted off of one's opponent (ex. NPC's), this limit does not include codenames, any amout may be used.
Note: any amount means max. 4.. since no RH craft can mount more.
Out of my 7 fighter/bomber characters I have them on 1 now. I think it simply fits Rheinland RP to use slow firing, hard damaging guns... as said before 5 Firekisses are the same in damage/energy as my 4 Codes and I see the Blue Blaze as Firekiss MKIII prototype.

Codes are good in duels. And they are good against gunboats and other bigger crafts.
But, for chasing a fighter that is dodging? Well, you need a lot of training to hit with them in those situations.
I agree with McNeo, it is not about how much they hurt (you keep repeating they have the same dmg as 5 firekisses), it is about they should be rare. In RP, almost every wreck has it's story.
And only most skilled fighters had 1 of those code weps.
But now, we see all kind of people, chasing around with that guns in crazy numbers.
I don't think it should be like that. 1 per fighter optimum, 2 max.

I think mounting 4 Codenames is way excessive, most factions have a no more than 2 codenames policy so why Rhindland is different im not sure, but my opinion stands, 4 Codenames is over kill.

The reason why I mounted codenames in the first place was to keep losing that single Thor's hammer I had in my hold as signature. I would love to mount just one.. but how do I match it with 500m/s of the Firekiss or 700m/s of the Hornviper?
Rarity yes.. but what's more RP a few fighters using more prototype weapons or every fighter using 1 ? Also most codenames (3 * 2 = 6) were on Rheinland imperial fighters in S13. Well if the RH used them long time ago in the 80 years war... I'm sure they'll use some now too.
If I can guess the reason why RM has allowed 4 Codenames... I'd say it's because Wrath happens to have only 5 hardpoints, Hornvipers are really bad, Firekisses are really slow, and neither of these can be matched to codes. Also RM uses fighters 99% of the time. In my 2 moths I have seen a RH BS once, Cruiser twice, and a single GB about once every week.
If you want to start a thread: "Why shouldn't RM allow 4 Codenames" do it in some other section than "Mod discussions" and I will be happy to get flamed there.

.. . This topic was started asking how they should / should not be changed. I'm all for the intruduction of some LVL 10 faction (or House militaries) weapons available only on the guard bases. Or changing Codename infocards to say where they were developed. Problems is that they were all moved from one to another wreck more times already.
