As the subtitle mentions, this is probably me making another stupid rookie mistake, so feel free to point it out if I am.
I was doing the /droprep on my primary account, Seeker_Six_One, earlier today (by earlier I mean about an hour or so ago), and had done quite a few with nothing happening to me. Then I got to a point where either my game bugged out or some kind of limiter kicked in, because the game would no longer let me drop my reputation, saying "ERR: no affiliation".
I don't know if this is a bug, or if I just suck, but regardless I would appreciate a little bit of help with this. Thank you in advance.
I wouldnt try doing missions if its some neutral repped trader. What ID you have there ?
If you were doing droprep, and nothing happend on rep sheet, it means that you dropped rep for a faction, you didnt discovered yet. I had couple times something like this.

Ebon (Hawk), I'm running a Freelancer ID on a Spatial outfitted with plenty of shiny shooty things - just because I have a Percheron doesn't mean I'm all trader, comrade. :D
The thing is that I'd been doing /droprep and it had been working fine; then I hit Liberty Navy and it wouldn't let me drop any more.
Gohan, thanks for the advice, maybe I'll give that a shot in a little while.
The problem is that i dont know how i got it back.
I got the same:
ERR: no affilation, relogged, did some missions and in a while it worked so i m sorry i cant help more.
/droprep drops the reputation of the faction you have as "affiliation" (commonly called IFF) - what shows before your name to other players and is also usually blinking at the bottom of your rep sheet.
With that in mind, an Error "ERR: no affiliation" seems straightforward. You have no affiliation that could be dropped. <strike>The cause of that would be, that when you dropped your rep the last time, there was no reputation high enough (has to be almost full green) to become your new IFF.
It's no bug, doing missions or other rep-changing stuff will eventually "fix" it, i.e you'll get an IFF.
Why were you dropping so many reps anyway? There might be an easier way to achieve the intended result.</strike>
Edit: OK, I was apparently assuming too muchttle. It seems you see the LN rep there... so, is it really your IFF? What if it's just a bit too low? If you don't do that already, I'd suggest relogging after each droprep to let the reps "settle down". Damn, I wasn't that helpful after all, was I?
No, Marvin, that seems to be plenty helpful. Relogging after every /droprep worked for a bit.
And I kept droprepping because I never took the triple bribe to become a Zoner; my rep is already too high to take it and max it out >_>. My original goal was to become a freelancer but now I'm trying to join [TAZ]. Oh, and my IFF was Bowex before that.
