- Before you read this, I would like to add I'm totally unsure on the faction title, hell it may not be Army, it might be something different all together, its just the simplest thing that I could think of. We could change AAC if needed, its totally flexible right now. I won't be starting this yet. Although if you're interested in joining and discussing editing it privately, skype me.A Poll On The Faction.

The Bretonian Military has always been one for peace and alternate means to conflict, but what happens when the person you try and reason with, wants to take a swing at your face with their fist? You don't give him the other cheek, you bloody swing at his face ten times harder. The Bretonian Armed Forces are experts at swinging that harder fist. When the fighting is on ground, you call the Army. When it is on sea & space, you call the Navy. When it is in the air, you call the Air Force. When the fighting is not going your way, you call the Army's Air Aviation Corps (AAC).
[font=Agency FB][size=small]"YOU LOOK ROUND, SEE YOUR FRIENDS BESIDES YOU AND THINK, 'I AM NOT GOING TO LET THESE PEOPLE DOWN'"
Mass military conscription during the Kusari-Bretonia war has brought the total Army Groups in the Bretonian Army to twenty one. Each has hundreds upon thousands of regiments and tens of millions of personnel being called to active duty. Although the AAC has a primary role in atmospheric combat on planets to support their large ground forces, it also has a very size able outer-space capable Divisions consisting of eighteen regiments. They however do not command any Royal Navy capital warships.

[font=Agency FB]RMA Sandhurst
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on New London is where all Officers in the Bretonian Armed Forces are trained to take on the responsibilities of leading soldiers. The Commissioning Course for Regular Army Officers is 48 weeks long, including recess periods. The Territorial Army course is shorter, as is the training course Sandhurst offers for military personnel with professional qualifications in areas such as law and medicine.
[font=Agency FB]"THERE'S A BOND IN THE ARMY THAT YOU JUST DON'T GET WITH ANY OTHER CAREER"
Training at Sandhurst covers military, practical and academic subjects and while it is mentally and physically demanding, there's also plenty of time set aside for sport and adventurous training. It's a proud day for Officer Cadets going into the Regular Army when they finally march up the steps of Old College to be commissioned as Officers at the end of the prestigious Sovereign's Parade.
A select few will pass RMA Sandhurst (Royal Military Academy). To pass you must have the following -
Have a BAF guard repped snub-craft.
36 hours flight time on a already created BAF repped snub-ship.
Pass the officers exam (Questionnaire)
Be agreed to qualify by the members of faction.
Army Aviation Corps
[font=Agency FB]The Army Aviation Corps is one of the biggest combat arms in the Army its fleet of Gunships and snub-craft make it most potent. Providing firepower from the skies and space, it has a unique role to play on the modern battlefield.
With its Templar attack fighters and Churchill attack gunships, the Corps delivers hard-hitting support to ground and airborne forces. During the key stages of a battle. It can take on anything from armored military vehicles to hostile attack fighters with speed and precision.
As well as striking targets, the Army Air Corps plays a crucial part in identifying potential hazards for other units. The fast and agile Hussar support fighter moves ahead of the main force, locating enemy positions and relaying the information back to the regiments heavy support units.
The Corps airlifts and transports soldiers and supplies into locations unobtainable by ground vehicles. In space, it is the main contributer to military personnel transportation around Bretonia with strong convoys. It is also instrumental in evacuating casualties which makes it vital in humanitarian operations as well as on the battlefield.

Notes on the above regiment - This is the military trading regiment. Flies shires, Shetlands & Percheron. It also handles Engineering prospects. They fly Repair ships and heavy lifters, they should be in large scale fights, mechanically supporting friendly forces. In reality, this will be the smallest of the regiments. The DoL regiment does not have ranks but instead just pilots.
Its Tag is BA|DoL-ShipName
Notes On Above - The battalions/companies/platoons in bold are the join-possible ones the rest are there for RP relevance and to relate to RP wise, but not played. Each regiment will have have a total of 16 possible playing slots. One Colonel/Brigadier ranked member, who is in lead command of the whole 16 and INRP, the thousands of personnel. Each regiment has a mix between doctors, pilots, soldiers, tank commanders, combat suit units, aircraft artificers, dentists, fitness instructors, logistic support officers and much more INRP but faction members, will all be pilots.
Lieutenant Colonel's are the RP leaders of each battalion in the regiment. Majors/Captains are the RP leaders of each company within the battalion. Lieutenants are the RP leaders of each platoon within the company. Staff sergeants (Non-Commissioned Officer) are one to each platoon and are 2iC of the platoon. In-game, the highest ranking member of the regiment as a whole (Lance Corporals -> Colonel) leads that regiment.
In the likely case of for example, two corporals being online, one from the Mercian regiment, one from Dragoons, then the two will temporarily agree on who should be leading forces at that time until someone with a higher rank comes online. Maturity is needed for effective leadership.
Varied Regiments and platoons creates vast amounts of inter-faction competition to be the best regiment in the force. Regimental competitions will also take place for them to prove they are the better unit.
[font=Agency FB]"LIFE ON OPERATIONS PUTS YOU AT THE HEART OF THE TEAM"
Each regiment will also go on operations or 'tours of duty' for a week or so where they will primarily be tasked with having a strong presence in a war torn sector. For example, for 7 days, the Mercian Regiment could get deployed to the Tau sector and will be expected for its personnel to primarily fight there. The Royal Anglian regiment might be deployed to Cambridge and could get tasked with anti-corsair skirmishes. It will vary and happen regularly.
[font=Agency FB]9th Division (Territorial)
ID -Bretonian Armed Forces IFF - Bretonian Armed Forces TAG -BA|Full.Name[TA]
Status -Paused
[font=Agency FB]The Territorial Army is a section of the Bretonian Armed Forces, primarily for those who wish to fight for queen and country and also have a civilian career. The Territorial army is also known as the reserves, we let anyone into it, its up to them. If you shine well in the Territorials, then you can eventually request transfer to a Regular Army regiment.
A soldier in the Territorial Army has the same in-game expectations and RP disciplines of Regulars, except they are not as required to be in Skype Chat or Message Dumps. However a certain level of faction involvement will be expected. They don't have regiments. (Yet)
[color=#CCCCCC][font=Agency FB][size=small]"A CIVILIAN CAREER AND ARMY ROLE CAN COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER REALLY WELL"
As a Territorial, you will have the same opportunities and responsibilities as your regular counterparts, with the added advantage that you can keep your existing civilian career. For example, a member of Bowex could also have a part time active duty in the Territorial Army, working around his schedule. It's totally flexible. Territorials can not fly gunboats or above.
There will be a Territorial Registry. All members of the Territorial Army will be expected to sign up and keep up to date with stand orders. Territorial is basically for those who have current characters that they want to do multiple RPs with, so they don't have to have a hundred different characters. It is also for those who won't be as active/dedicated as the rest, so if you want to be in the faction but won't be flying and shooting as much as the rest, you can lay low in the Territorial army. It is also for those who want the advantages of being in a faction such a teamwork and support players but don't like the idea of moving up the ranks or having to write reports. Overall, Territorial = Less serious players.

[font=Agency FB]Questions & Answers
Quote:How is this different from BAF RolePlay?
It's a tricky question to explain to satisfy everyone but some things we do that BAF| do not are:
Having Regiments and regimental competitions (Players proving their regiments are best)
Regimental deployment tours. Few weeks where that regiment is tasked with primarily fighting in that sector. It increases activity to specific locations and not just boring patrols over vast Bretonia. However in emergencies for example New London, deployed Regiments can also return temporarily to assist.
The faction is split between Regular and Territorial. (Full Timers vs Part Timers) And this also increases faction competition, and possibly banter. Like in the real military. Example: USMC vs US Army ('Men' vs Boys)
No capital ships and having transports
Squads in platoons, it allows yet again, squads to compete for the respect of the Faction. I guess if we get successful, instead of people saying "I'm in the BA" we could get to a point where it turns into "I'm in the BA, Mercian regiment" And people who aren't in the faction would know "Ah, thats impressive, isn't Mercian regiment the best?" etc etc. So it is like sub-factions in a faction. Constant attempts for regiments/squads to be better.
Also in-game communications, if we have say 5-6 players on, it could be instead of "Williams, Douglas, Turner, go in and engage" it would be "Squad one, engage" "Mercian Regiment, Scout ahead" And although its very minor, it just boosts the RP environment.
I'm going to make the faction VERY strict military RP. So hopefully members will leave with a vast increase in their military understanding. Hopefully.
We have commissioned/Non-commissioned players so this FURTHER increases military RP.
Quote:Apart from whats in the post, what other ideas do you have for the faction?
Well, if this gets going, i'll have weekly events vs various other factions. We won't be trying to go official. Message dumps, watering holes etc. Also joint forum story RP.
Quote:Hold on, you even in the military?
I'm not, I'm 16 and finishing off my GCSE exams, when I finish my A-levels I'm going to try and go to Sandhurst. Also, I'd rather this faction didn't start up until my exams finish on 15th of July, so then I can put all my efforts into it. However this can change. Right now though, I want feedback.

Be gentle, its my first attempt, its rough, it's going to be altered.
Ech... Why would I need to read it all. I see many paragraphs, probably about each rank, platoon/squad etc.
How do you expect to attract people to fill faction to give image of huge numbers as in squads etc. when there's BAF with similar ideas? They have inRP squads for each battleship.
Also, that's not nice to ignore the question and shove possible member/contributor away.

*sighs*
.... To understand it all?
BAF doesn't undertake these ideas, I've been in it. I'm wanting to develop it. That is what I'm doing now.
I just get fed up when people come and just comment going "Join BAF" well, my answer would be no, then I would be wasting the ideas and developments that I have already thought up.

Snak3, why do you feel the need to fail at trolling in EVERY faction thread? Either READ what it's about and see how it's DIFFERENT from the BAF, or shove off. Seriously.
Sucks to be a weight on the wrong side of the brilliance-insanity scale.
I am not trolling. I am asking because I am curious. An answer to one question gave me what I asked. Thus saving my time on reading whole bunch of information.
But your assumption I failed at what you thought I was doing clearly shows your offensive stance toward me already. Thus denying any credibility of your statement, which I could call trolling itself.
After the answer I got interested in what's different from BAF| and will read, hopefully, whole information.
Why not simple join BAF and be assigned to certain squad?
You call this not trolling? You call saying tl;dr being curious? Son, you have a lot to learn about trollage.
On a different note, Englishman... it's a great idea BUT. You will have the BAF as a major competition and you'll have one hellova hard time filling out all those ranks...

' Wrote:You will have the BAF as a major competition and you'll have one hellova hard time filling out all those ranks...
I know, it's going to be a struggle but hopefully we can eventually get there. All official factions end up casting away some players, in this, I would allow anyone and everyone join free, and see if that could boost numbers at all. Time will tell. Fingers crossed.
