So I bought Borderlands GOTY on Steam for 7.50 on Friday, and I kid you not. It consumed my weekend, I just can't put the bloody git down!
I just fully completed the story on first playthrough, then the Zombie Island, that was pretty fun. Then I had a go of the Underdrome I died on the Last round 4th wave, got angry and skipped it. Now I've just finished the plot for the Armory of Knoxx, that was great fun. So now I'm a level 47 support gunner.
I got a gun with 100 or so magazine, I've got stockpile to level 5 for extra 60% magazines, level 2 assault and a class mod that gives me 60% more ammo and 50% refire. That guns was carrying near 250 rounds. Not the most accurate bugger, but once I get a kill with level 5 Metal Storm, I'm a Black-Heavy in a wasteland! NOTHING is going to live!
Thank God for my turret supply drops, they help a lot.
Now, to try playthrough 2, Crawmerax is just insane... too insane... Damned crab.
I'll leave the Clap-Trap Revolution for last on my 2nd playthough. Oh and explosive revolvers that are meant to be 3 shot getting 7 shots. Great gun.
So yeah, I've lost a weekend with brilliant weather... didn't do my house work. And I couldn't care less.
Time to waste another week on this game while I hunt for work.:crazy:
Ahh, Borderlands. Love that game, humor was spot on (you gotta feel bad for Knoxx) but word to the wise, try to find some friends to play it. It gets even better with more people.
Although I have little interest in single player RPG's, I must say I enjoyed Borderlands when I tried it with a friend. The whole style and light hearted presentation can be quite fun, beyond the mass volume of stylised content there's also some depth and themes that mirror the real world.
Oh God, I've just tried out the Commando Class Mod, got a few shotguns and geared towards infantry tree, and NOTHING is stopping me right now. It's ridiculously easy to kill people, sadly long range is still an issue since you sacrifice combat rifle power.
You can still kick Psycho masks if you've poured points in the right skill tree. You'll just need an accurate combat/sniper rifle or any shotgun with the Hunter prefix.
