' Wrote:Perhaps, but in my particular set of experiences with this particular faction in this particular situation, a total lack of concern for RP power lead to an improper hubris of sourts towards Interspace that amounted to "Haha, suck it! We have all the guns!" from those on the other end.
In other situations, with other players, it of course worked itself out differently, not always to our detriment, and not always beacuse of wrongs on the other side.
The solution to this is not pretty, and would require essentially deletion of the rules and mechanics we use now in favour of new ones. The insurance mechanic is especially complicated. I would also point out that these changes in mechanics would actually kill the server, as nobody likes to be realistic and everybody wants to be a hero with none of the substancial risks involved in becoming one in the first place.
But yes, you are correct. Few people understand that corporations can hold nations to ransom in certain situations. Especially in situations like this.
To be honest, they should call discovery a relaxed RP server.

I cannot help but agree, my good sir.
A cure worse than the disease.
But nevertheless, that does not mean I particularly like the facts, so I, being a gentlemanne of great persistence, shall continue to complain at them endlessly to no effect, taking great pleasure in each useless tirade.
A kind of self-schadenfruede, if you will.
Of course, one need to take such bold moves as an entire insurance mechanic to grease the squeaky wheel, as it were.
No one expects the casual or amateur roleplayer here to engage in high-level legal and political roleplay; that would be absurd.
But official factions representing House governments?
Perhaps.
In my dreams.
