' Wrote:Actualy, Yes. With the right trading ship and weapons, armor... you can take down a gunboat. 1-vs-1
*edit*.. skill also has a factor in it as well..
Really, though, is taking down that gunboat worth the money in time? Three million isn't all that much to a high end transport (1/2 a run, maybe), and then there are the repair costs. My, that can hurt. Why not just pay the bugger and get it over with?
' Wrote:I'm talking a bomber, not a GB. Supernova's and nuke mines combined with shield busters. No trader is a match for that unless they catch it afk or there is some other factor.
I had transports escape with a GB, but a bomber takes them out quick, never met one that could fight back effectively.
One thing to consider, though, is if the SN hits actually hit the ship itself, or whether they hit something stupid like Cargo Pods. I know I've been lucky when those Xenos come around to pick on the Caernarvon and Gunther ends up losing 3,000 cargo instead of his life. The hardest part is actually knowing what to hit and hitting it while dodging...

[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Contrans or a lux liner will give a gs a run for it's money. I have killed quite a few bombers in my Contrans.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
