A combination of letters, numbers and symbols at the beginning of a characters name that denotes the player faction or group they are in.
Note: Some players also use "tags" at the beginning of their names to denote what NPC Faction their character(s) are part of, while not being a member of a player faction
Also Note: Tags are different then the NPC IFF that display infront of the character's names. The 'Tag' itself is part of the character's name. While the IFF is designated by that character's reputation with a certian faction.
An example of the tags on several Consortium vessels (The \CS\ prefix prior to the name, these obviously vary between factions).
