Bielefeld was established in 815 A.S. by the Bundschuh, after the organization managed to find a Jump Hole to what they christened the Luneburg system, deep within the Taunusfeld's recesses. Taking full advantage of its remoteness and emptiness, the Exiled Party created a fallback headquarters for the hypothetical circumstance of Bruchsal becoming compromised.
Unfortunately for them, the Rheinlandic Government's discovery of the habitable Hammersee and announcement of its desire to colonize it quickly compromised the seclusion of the system. Substantially removed from Rheinland's typical borders, the system was designated Sigma-15 as news of its "discovery" was spread to the colonies.
Bielefeld itself is host to a substantial number of noncombatants; some of whom were spirited away from the squalid conditions on Hammersee and Planet Nuremberg, though conditions upon the station are honestly little better
