Areas of Interest

Languedoc Minefield

Set up by the Gallic Royal Navy in order to close access to the Orkney jumphole- and thus the rest of Sirius- the Languedoc Minefield was the target of Council's attacks on the system. After securing Quillion and Montpellier Guard Station, Council began clearing a path through the minefield, completing their mission on Reunion Day in 817 A.S. (or 733 A.G.S.). Much of the field still remains, as does a significant debris field containing the wreckage of depleted mines and the Gallic Royal Navy and Council ships destroyed in the Battle of Languedoc.

Lozere Asteroid Field

Containing not only the Jump Gate to Dauphine- guarded diligently by the Battleship Carcassonne- but also a strong presence of Gallic Brigands and significant traffic in and out, the Lozere Asteroid Field is the center of the ongoing fighting in Languedoc. All Sirius traffic from Orkney goes through there one way or another, and the Gallic Royal Navy has assigned many patrols to this area in an attempt to stem the tide.

Herault Ice Asteroid Field

Both a major source of water for the region and out of the way of the main fighting, this area sports a sizable number of wrecked ships for its location. Patrols that wander too deep into the field do not often wander out, save for the Maquis that are often spotted nearby.
