Discovery v4.76, released two days ago on our forums, is now available from Lancers Reactor website. Comprehensive list of new features is available in this thread.
In Freelancer section of Discovery message board you will find information about Discovery official 24/7 server, server events, about the mod itself and future plans for its development. You are welcome to register and participate.
Our forums are now open for registration and posting. Everything seems to work fine... well, if you find any errors or bugs, report them to Feedback forum.
Board structure should be quite understandable (thanks to metamay who helped me with it) so you can easily find out where to post what.
Note that you may change your skin in the dropdown menu at the bottom of forum screen. There are 4 skins to choose from.
The main reason for starting this website is an attempt to reunite the former IlluminatingDarkness community. We are intended to create nice and friendly forums where people will be able to discuss freely both gaming-related and non-gaming topics.
Discovery, like IlluminatingDarkness, will be dedicated to gaming, RP gaming in particular. Due to steady increase of MMORPG popularity in the recent years we will tend to focus on MMORPGs, not forgetting about singleplayer role-playing games as well. Exact list of games that will have their own forums is yet to decide, depending on our members' interest. The only thing certain is that Elder Scrolls forums will remain, and most probably World of Warcraft will have its own forum too.
Why I had the idea of reuniting Darkness community at all, and why not half a year ago when the original site was gone? Mainly because of technical issues. Only now in June 2005 I have a hosting for this site (reliable, though sometimes slow), a domain name and experience that I've got during the previous year in setting up and maintaining forums.
I hope no one thinks seriously that this site might be an immediate success. Few people know about this place, and finding ways to attract new visitors will be a complicated task. And the number of Darkness previous members who know about Discovery is yet very low, so in future I will try to find the others and invite them here.
Discovery is not an attempt to resurrect ID. It is an attempt to resurrect the great community that we once were and develop further - with new name, new games, new ideas and new people.
So... welcome aboard!
