All types of guns for all types of factions - Guest - 12-10-2009 We have had many threads concerning the faction's ability to fight other factions with the shield vs gun type in mind. Many faction players are forced to use other faction guns because the lack of guns of their own with which they are more likely to be better in combat with. Like the Rogues used to have krakens and wyrms on their bombers and the Order used Corsair shieldbusters and Salamancas. Why not give the factions all the weapon types, tachyon, particle, laser, pulse, plsama and so on. It would solve problems like people complaining, that the guns they are forced to use in rp are not efficient against the enemy or that they are not used to, say, 8.00 guns, but would rather use 4.00s or 2.00s. We could let the factions keep their "best" guns, like the Rogues having the best lasers in the game, the Outcasts having the best particle cannons and the Corsairs having the best neutron cannons. Currently only house militaries have a 8.00 guns (LN vengeances for example) and 2.00s (LN magma hammers for example) But the weapon technology never stays still, it would allow the faction techs to modify and build their own guns. Would allow, say, rogues to not use lasers against grav shields, same for GMG and civilians and their flashpoints. What would you say about such a suggestion? They seem to have one set of gun that is just improved as its mounting level increases. Instead of rank-based guns, let's have this balance of specialized guns. You have my support on this one. Although giving every faction at least two gun types might be an idea... it would give them at least some diversity while still keeping differences from faction to faction. Every gun type is not necessary, and would get very convoluted (and lead to a lot of "my laser is worse than their laser!" threads). But giving every faction a second gun seems like a quaint idea. But give each one a 2.00 4.00 8.00 and it will be fine. Unless, ofcourse, you mean different refire/proj speed types of debs apart from the 700ms and the 600ms one. And you can always ignore them anyways. But i'd agree that many of them might not be used MAYBE but at the least, give each faction atleast two guns with different refirerate for those lfs and razorwhores. This is a RP-server therefore faction members should use their faction weapons. It's not really "realistic" to see an outcast (outcast ID) using corsair or BH-weapons or a mixture of weapons. This counts for any house faction. Only independant players like freelancer, mercenarys, independant miners and traders should have their free choice, because they're the ones who travel across Sirius and work for themselves or real different parties (IF they have a good RP-explanation for using different weapons). Of course I understand that most players want to use the Tizona cause it's the best shieldbuster, but is anybody here, who really thinks that (for example) a KNF-fighter or a UC-member would use that? No way, this imagination is ridiculous. Let's save the RP on our server. You wanna be in LSF and use Tizona and Kraken - just choose another server (that's an example too, I don't want to offend LSF-members, I meant that in a general way). By the way: I think what I've said about weapons counts in the same way for the vessels. Each faction should only use their own or some general/civilian vessels - it's ridiculous to see (for example) a hessian in a Gladiator. |
