but because of howlong games take i wouldent like playing it online again

Actually, he's been playing online for ages...But if you hold from his LRM rush, you can whoop his ass.

Another thing, even the devs have realized that LRMs are rigged---They can chase capitals and absolutely rape them.

Curious as to how the vasari ships are, have yet to try them

EDIT: Read the manual and found out about LRM's, so i just changed my post:P

Sins of a Solar Empire - ian - 06-11-2008

the Javelis LRM frigate, TEC only heh

they are long range missile launchers which can be devasting to ships with no shields although even with shields the can still hit hard

put it this way, their Desolater (their dreadnought) cap ship even when its level 3 is pants as it can easily be beaten by a few light frigates and a level 1 BC

I Will show you 3 screenshots, you will see a problem that im having

Last screen is the problem, other two show my fleet stats, and what not.
Why am i losing income, when im no where near my fleet capacity?

Also, my home planet and another planet near by decided to turn against me, something to do with culture, how do i get them back? i try to colonize again, and it says " Culture is too hostile to colonize, something around that" And what do i Build/Research to prevent that?

:(

Upkeep happens nomatter the size of your fleet, unfortunatetly.

Sins of a Solar Empire - ian - 06-12-2008

it sounds like that the enemy has gotten the planets next to your home planet OR is firing 2 loev guns at you, if they are Advent, in which case you will need to build two boradcast centres on the nearest planets and if possible move your fleet in orbit to rid the populace and while they are there they can also repel the enemys influence which is what is stopping you from taking it back soo as your influence overtakes the enemys or no influence is touching the planet then you have a chance of taking it back

also i noticed you have a incredibly large amounts of metal i would suggest you sell as much of it as you can without crashing the market on the black market as then you can get whatever resource you need the most be it money or crystal

I can't believe there are that many Advent-obsessives.. Advent sucks.. Your capitals are slightly, slightly better than the TEC, with the exceptions of the battleships, as the Kol does kick ass..

However, we have much better support ships, like the missile frigates, Kodiak Cruisers, and light carriers.. Get a properly set up fleet and TEC can basically kill anything.. I took out a pirate base that was at the highest hostility level, with 15 missile frigates, 10 Kodiaks, 15 light carriers, and 3 capitals (Kol BS, Akkan BC, and Carrier).

Its just that the computer, and most players, don't know how to play as TEC.. People like to focus on military or civilian research first.. It doesn't work that way for TEC. You gotta balance your research between them, and getting the metal and crystal mining Civ upgrades is a must for the TEC, as well as getting the Refinery upgrade and building lots of refineries on the planets.. Other than that, researching ship upgrades is extremely important.. Getting to Kodiak Cruisers as fast as possible is useless if you haven't gotten any weapon, shield, or armor upgrades..

I'd say the TEC's best weapon is to make lots of Light carriers and Robotic ships for their fleets. 15 Light carriers each carrying a bomber can do a LOT of damage, especially when added to capital's bombers, and Capital Carrier's. 20-25 bombers can make short work of an enemy fleet.. Then the robotic ships, if you have 10 of, can repair your capitals almost as fast as enemies can damage them.. And if the enemy target your robotic ships, they repair each other, AND your normal ships can go all-out on the enemy.. In the end, by the time the robotic ships are dead, the enemy fleet is too weak to do anything..

TRAITOR! our capitol ships are far better than the Advents!!

also our Dreadnought can really pack and take a real pounding surprised no-one actually uses it much:wacko: combine that with the Kol and Akkan or Dunov then you will have a heck of a fighting force because the Dunov can cause you to use your abilitys much more due to its ability to reduce the cost ALOT and with the Akkan that Ion bolt spammed onto enemy cap ships can easily keep it out of business untill someone destroys it:)

and i wouldent focus on Kodiaks quick either as 1. they are VERY expensive and 2. not as good as they make out to be unless you have the Robotics cruiser or fully researched the Auto-cannon/gauss projectiles

also as for research it would be best to focus on civilian before military but only for the resouces as before you can reseach anything you need some sort of stable economy or you will stumble and start to lack in both economy, military then when the enemy attacks you wont be able to stand up to him or her because 1. you havent got good ships or nearly enough and 2. you cannot afford to replace your ships
