So at this point is it safe to assume that a rollback is definitely going to happen?

RE: Admin Notice: Player Owned Bases - ProwlerPC - 08-15-2013

Might be easier. XD

*sigh*

The fact that this wasn't immediately announced means people are going to lose a lot of work.

Yeah. It's too bad the hackers didn't give us heads notice or give us a detailed extent of what they did.

Is there an ETA for the rollback?

RE: Admin Notice: Player Owned Bases - ProwlerPC - 08-15-2013

Gotta see how far this mess stretched back.

RE: Admin Notice: Player Owned Bases - Luke. - 08-15-2013

I know it's not entirely your fault but maybe hold a forum-wide vote? If the majority is a decent percentage (say, about 75% or something) on not having them back then go with that?

Or, erase the database and have people start fresh on base building.

Sounds bias'd I know but that's just my view.

"The majority" has absolutely no way to know how severe the damage is.

RE: Admin Notice: Player Owned Bases - Lythrilux - 08-15-2013

When was the last backup made?
I have a bunch of stuff I really don't want to lose due to the effort in getting the money for them.
I really don't see why we need a rollback. I mean, we haven't seen any detrimental effects to the game play right?
And in my eyes, if we rollback it means the hackers have kind of won; they succeed in gaining mad and anger from people because their effort in making ships and trading would be gone.

RE: Admin Notice: Player Owned Bases - ProwlerPC - 08-15-2013

It is relatively recent the activity that messed things up, at least, it seems. So I wouldn't expect a big roll back, just a couple days so far. The mess is messy is all and can be made messy right away after the roll back unless we figure out a way to put a block on the shenanigans.

In other words our 'friends' aren't finished with us yet.

The 'victory' you are trying to allude to pales in comparison to their goal which we are trying to keep them from accomplishing. The closing of Discovery.
