Faction Control of Capital Ships... or... - askura - 01-12-2009 Well personally I say yes, they should be able to restrict who in their faction has access to the cap ships and such. As long as it stops there. I'm an indie at the moment, I RP, avoid "Lulwutz" and actually read the forums. (Mainly due to a shunt from [LR]Hopeless Romantic, cool guy, in Liberty about my blatant rule breaking) How would they be able to limit the control of the cap ships though? Will the faction leader have to apply to the administration team? Or will they simply just say "Yes you can" and then that member/person will jog happily to the place to buy it? I'm a fighter pilot, so my view may not be valid, but I see it that as it's an RP server, not pvp, that things should work for the greater structure of the RP in general. And as its RPwhy would the RM sell a battleship to an indie for no reason other than Hes done a few mission for us killing things, Im sure hes a pretty decent chap and a lot of credits. Personally the server is about role-play, not power. Why do people who come to this server need so much. I can do some pretty good damage in my fighter. (That Im refitting now as Im breaking about 4-5 rules at the moment myself. Please dont ban me >.>;) So whats with the need for cap ships? The way I see it people only need cap ships because other people have capships. Ive been attacked a few times by indie capships who have done nothing to engage RP, nothing other than RuN oR DIEZ! then open fire. Someone must have paraphrased the rules to: If you threaten them you can open fire for most of them. Anyway this is just random 8am banter as Ive had no sleep and played throughout the night. I say yeah, limit the capships. Indies dont need them as much as factions do anyway. If they want a capship they can go hit up Disco PVP or something, where they dont totally f-ck up the cannon. Faction Control of Capital Ships... or... - swift - 01-15-2009 Yes but mostly the very indies(those that would never register their cap) that the people in charge try to protect are mostly the ones that spit in the face of "them and their RP". Sadly, such views like yours and some similar ones are viewed with a look saying "Look, here comes the capship Nazi.". Faction Control of Capital Ships... or... - nankura - 01-16-2009 restricting cap ship's to faction's is abit ridicilious in a way and then not, ok its understand if people IN that faction are restricted as part of the RP of that faction. but why should 1 or 2 people have control over who get's a cap ship or not, you do it that way and theres bound to people in faction's who abuse it and only the "high up people" or the "known" people will ever get a cap ship in the game, yea some people love fighter's so go fly em, some people dont like fighters and some people like the bigger side of thing's and they should be allowed to experience that online If your not part of that "corporation" or "faction" and you've spent the months making the money towards a cap ship and working hard, you should be allowed one regardless of what a faction leader say's, you'd just be an "outlaw" to them and probably be hunted, but hey thats the fun of it! Giving players to much control encourages curroption, greed and overpowering, even the most mature people fall into it Faction Control of Capital Ships... or... - Eternal - 01-16-2009 We , the 101st , we , The Order , have no problem with people , who wish to RP a capital ship. Heck , they are free to buy one any time of the day. The only thing we wanted them to do in exchange for that is to go to the forums , regester , and post a short story about the ship , what it would do , who is in command of it. These are all very basic things that should be done if you wish to fly a capital class ship. Because , you , the person who flies it , don't "fly" it alone. How many people does it take to properly handle and operate an Outcast Dreadnaught ? All these men and women are maltese people , Outcasts. Why shouldn't the official , well known and established Outcast factions be concerned with who is in command of those people and is he capable ? The regestration was never about the Council of Dons or the Admirality of The Order , to be the only people who can have such a ship. It was aways about encouriging better roll play and more realistic enviroment for everyone.Because in reality , you can't simply go and buy the largest ship said group produses and then not know who the current admirals , leading the Outcasts are. The whole reason why admins banned official faction control over capital ships , is because people where too concerned that if they didn't , capital ships would be given only to admirals and friends. When in fact , that was never our goal or intention. Undestand the meaning of faction control over capital ships , before you make statements. Because , wheather you like it or not , your opinion matters and your opinion changes things here. I suggest you understand things firsts , before you give your opinion. Faction Control of Capital Ships... or... - Tomtomrawr - 01-16-2009 I say yes to this, because imagine if there were no restrictions? Every man and his dog would be in a destroyer going "he he lol:P, i kled u nub! fre mony plox?" I think that people who have good role-playing skills should have them, but there not all that great anyway. Infact, i have an RNC ship, the RNC-Sterbefall. I never get on it anymore because i have much more fun going to the fights in my RM bomber then i do in a cruiser. Infact i'm about to scrap the character and make a new role-playing character. |
