Same like open market i think. Communication channel is of course encrypted for my char, but the bounty board? I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Markus_Janus - 06-29-2011 ' Wrote:Just add "Sent" before word "to". Stupid metagaming attempts where someone thinks corporation would send war invitation openly to whole Sirius will be null and void.Ok guess I can't argue with that.:$ ' Wrote:Is it metagaming to read the bounty board? Well I would say not as it is the same as a communication, sent to someone that was not you. I guess first think if we play in a universe that everyone taps into each others comms as much as we want. Every faction out there has the potential to claim they can, why don't we play like that. I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - William Frederick Cody - 06-29-2011 BOUNTY ON W.F. CODY This message was not for me too... Of course Cody knows that there was bounty on him. I read it on forums before i started to play that day. After being 2 minutes in space, 3 ppl have contacted me about it and told me about that bounty i already know. Did they all metagame? And if, which possibility i have to know about this bounty in RP? Should i didn't know until the collector appears? I mean, it is NEWS AND COMMERCE. If you post in comm channels, it would be more hidden. But News and commerce and its subforums are like a newspaper everyone can read. I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Hone - 06-29-2011 If it is encrypted to someone specifically, only they can read it, if it just said "samura bounty on these guys" THEN everyone would be able to read it. As it is, because it is adressed to certain people, the only way the rest of sirius could find out was if samura or one of the contacted parties told them. Since the bounty on cody was not adressed to anyone, just an open broadcast to ' Wrote:everyone who wants this bounty in sirius Cody could have read it in RP. At least, thats what Iv always assumed. I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Jack_Henderson - 06-29-2011 1. Indiscriminate targetting In my opinion the list is badly exaggerated. It's just too big. 2. Political repercussions Imaging a bountyhunter who registers with your bounty, he is accepted, then sells the information of it to Liberty, Bretonia, all the different corporations. If all Liberty or all Bretonian corporations counter-bounty you, you'd be dead before you can say "Ehm... uh... Sorry!?". Even your char's mother might kill you for the money that 2 Houses can offer. You can't bounty half the IDs on the server and think you can get away with it. 3. Cheap bountying: Do not bounty for 1 million If you want Samura to display its power, do not put a ridiculous 1 million bounty. Because: 1 million would not move anybody ingamely... but oorply it gives every pvper who loves to shoot at unarmed targets out there a reason to attack almost everybody. Most damage that is inflicted is 10-40 times as high (transports, miners, etc) as your bounty. If you want to hurt the others irply, be prepared to pay for it irply. 2 million should be the minimum if you want to avoid showing that Samura cannot afford it but still does it. Also some bonuses for special targets (like your real enemies, or special dangerous ship types!) to avoid the look of unmotivated, indiscriminate bountying. Summary: I don't like it in this form, as it is excessive and I would oorply encourage every player to register, then sell the information to the bountied groups... so that Samura can be whacked afterwords by the highest bounty in FL! =) I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Markus_Janus - 06-29-2011 ' Wrote:BOUNTY ON W.F. CODY Well I shall start off with that bounty. Quote:i want everyone who wants this bounty in sirius to attack william frederick cody. you will be able to claim this bounty if you follow these simple steps: Looks like you can read that, also seems you would of been told since it looks like you can read this yourself. An open bounty is one thing a closed one is something else. If I make an open transmission in the comm channel, everyone can read it, if it is closed only the ones I sent it to can. Whether I place this bounty in the comms channel or bounty board is not important, what is is who I send it too. It is placed there because that is where these things go. I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Hone - 06-29-2011 Only the trusted people already registered with samura can see it jack. I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Mao - 06-29-2011 What did EFL and IDF do to you? (and why not GMS?) I know there is some bad feelings about blanket bounties. - Markus_Janus - 06-29-2011 ' Wrote:1. Indiscriminate targetting Well that is a pitty you feel the way you stated in your summary. Do you truely see this as "If you want to hurt the others irply, be prepared to pay for it irply." I shall try and address your points with the thinking I have behind them. 1:Indiscriminate targetting. I can see your point here, and I thank you for your feedback. This is something I am still getting opinions on and seeing how it will unfold best. 2. Political repercussions. This will be a little harder to have happen since it will only be people we can trust that will ever see this bounty board and it is covering what is already happaning in Kusari. 3. Cheap bountying: Do not bounty for 1 million. We can raise the price if you like, of course that would mean it would become a much larger problem as then people we hire will be even more motivated to hunt down every thing mentioned on that list. The bounty is supposed to cover our deals we have in place, not be just another bounty board designed to hurt people. As to the last part, the Summary: Wow just wow. ' Wrote:What did EFL and IDF do to you? (and why not GMS?)Sorry that was pure oversight problems from me. If IDF and EFL stay there, GMS will join them. |
