Sins of a Solar Empire - ivr56 - 06-13-2008

I tried the Demo.
Its fun but its very time consuming for sure. Plus the 90 minute demo limit doesnt help at all. On the random medium map is took forever to do.

But in the end of the 90 minutes.

I had 2 Planets and 1 asteroid colony only.
The second desert planet ended up being my Military Installation. Surrounded by 8 Gauss Platforms and Many shipyards.

Fleet:
1 Capital Ship
10 Missile Frigates
10 Light Frigates
5 Cruisers
4 Scouts
Darn Pirate raids hurt me quite a bit. they kept on raiding my installation.
Managed to make peace with one fraction creating a Trade Alliance and Cease Fire.

I was taking my time becasue I was still new.

Great Game.
Managed to play the game on Med/High at 1280x1024 with no AA (Forgot Exact Name of Feature) enabled. It ran smoothly.

You serious? Carriers are easy to kill.. Especially if you use Garda Flak ships. Take 4 in with your fleet of 5 Kodiaks or 1 Kol BS and the carrier goes down, as do the bombers since the Gardas utterly rape them.

Bumping because I used the Search feature and didn't want to duplicate.

I recently bought Trinity while it was on sale on Steam, and now I'm looking for people to play with.

I also (cough) acquired a non-steam copy in case the people I could play with didn't have a, well, let's call them "Up-to-dates" copies.

There were a few of us playing it earlier in the year. With this of course.

I think it was Gheis and Donut, maybe some others.

If they don't have a legit copy by now then they truely suck. it's VERY cheap, even cheaper because of the sale. a must buy to anyone's collection pirate or not it deserves to be bought.

The game is cool but I guess I am big nub, because I cannot finish it in less then 4-5 hours against 2-3 med NPCs.
I played TEC and Advent- both are good but the whole game play is kinda slow if you have some ideas how to make good economics in the beginning I will be happy to listen to them.

Sins of a Solar Empire - Tomtomrawr - 12-23-2011

I bought Trinity on Steam a few days ago after finding vanilla SoaSE in the cupboard a few days before and playing it again.

It's certainly a time drain, and I'm really not sure if I like it or not. I'll never be able to play online - I'm completely awful and I distinctly remember everybody I tried playing online against LRM rushing my home world immediately.

I haven't even tried Diplomacy yet. Just sticking to Entrenchment for now, always playing Vasari and getting accustomed to the new military research areas. Especially Starbases. Watching a fleet of Cobalt Light Frigates jump to a gas giant with one of my upgraded Starbases around it, trying to attack and then get completely obliterated always lifts my heart.

Really not sure about it.

Same. What happens a lot is me saying to myself "Twenty more minutes and this is over" and then three hours later being exactly where I was before with a few extra things researched.
