I imagine that once this gets out, which it inevitably will -Q_Q'ing Samura's cries of "omg u metagamer!" regardless- there will be a storm of Q_Q and retribution that won't be pleasant for Samura's income one bit.

Sometimes it's really embarrassing to be a part of this mudfighting childish community and their pity desires for personal advantages as a player over actual roleplay. Janus opened the topic on his own to put the matter open for discussion, yet he gets flamed for it and people try to order him to take it back.
As a result, and as residing Samura faction leader, I hereby request anyone incapable of keeping a civil tone to stay out of the discussion. Furthermore I request the same from anyone encouraging the breach of rules (roleplay or server-wise), like this example:

This is in fact what certain rumours are suggesting. However, it is being discussed to drop factions we have standing deals with from the list. By it is being discussed I wish to express that this might take a while since my priorities currently are with my university exams.

Thank you. Furthermore I'd like to remind people that there have been periods where basically all factions in Sirius had a standing bounty upon them, yet people seemingly only complain if those bounties all originate from one factions.

In fact that's exactly what started going on by the time the GMG placed their bounty on us, along with the one the Blood Dragons have going.
Having a 1 million bounty contrary to the average 2 million piracy demand however does not seem to me like encouraging massive bounty-hunting.
Furthermore, traders are to be let free after having fulfilled a demand and I was under the impression this also covers bounties.

Maybe we are just not too fond of one-sided deals like letting them into Kusari while not being allowed into Gallia ourselves. Or not very fond of gallic shippers running ore to Rheinland which technically should be our job. IDF is open for debate about being excluded for the previously agreed items.

I'd regard it as totally ridiculous. So here's what someone is going to do...
- Make a hogosha character
- Object to the rather indiscriminate manner targets have been assigned
- Yell to the Ku govt.
- Yell to the other governments
- Provide evidence of this bounty board's existance to those people.
- Liberty and Rheinland will object to Samura ordering the killing of Rhein/Lib citizens.
- Liberty and Rheinland will prevent Samura ships entering Liberty and Rheinland
- The Kusari government shut the whole thing down, knowing that Samura is acting in a criminal manner, the government caving in to the international pressure, which is far more damaging to Kusari's economy than anything else.

But uh, nice joke with the bounty board guys. Independant traders... I mean, wow... Seriously, don't carry on with this. Very very silly idea that will eventually land Samura in the proverbial poop be it in RP or out of it.
Edit: Blanket bounties are not a problem. This issue here is this is not thought through. This bounty board is going to cause multiple houses to turn against Kusari. That's not wise, and will be unpopular (for obvious reasons) with the Kusari government.
This discussion is here for a reason, however, I'd disagree with calling actually following vanilla RP and playing the more shady sides of a corporation a "silly idea". And if the described scenario would take place, I would like to know how this would be tolerable practice considering the waste amount of illegal stuff the IND is into yet still being allowed to trade with all houses? Why would those of us with the vanilla lore to do it be worth less than an "elite-faction"?

Kusari is already noticeably struggling with activity compared to other houses, and I can't see this doing much good for the house activity-wise. I don't know about actual leaders, but if I was leading one of the bountied factions I'd encourage my members to avoid your house as much as possible until this ridiculous action goes away.
I don't care about how much RP sense it does or does not make, because I have, frankly, little idea of how much of a corporate megalith Samura is in Kusari; I'm just concerned that you're going to bugger up activity in Kusari even more than it already seems to be.

See... everybody can say "I heard a rumor". It happens with every bounty.
Then you tell another person ingame... and by telling something you metagamed before, it becomes ingame knowledge (as the person you told it had no idea you meta'ed it).
Bounties never stay secret. Never.
So... if you really want to do it, be prepared that the players you aim at will find a way of "proving" that it is you (finding pieces of evidence is so easy if you oorply know the full picture) or they will just find another reason, e.g. to act against Samura (oh, have you seen? Samura painted their headquarters yellow... nah, come on. Let's increase the bounty on them) or to avoid the region (Have you heard? The air in southern Sirius is much healthier. Let's trade there for a few weeks).
I'd scrap the plan of such an excessive bounty completely.
It will disrupt Kusari gameplay (and there is not much).
It will lead to a lot of "you metagamer!"-QQ
It will lead to negative repercussions (that Samura might not accept, because "You can't know it!") and then there is OORP trouble.
Not a good idea, in my opinion.
And to all who found my sentence sooo bad: Please realise the smiliey is there for a purpose.

Ok so this was supposed to be a discussion about the impact this bounty might have in an OoRP sense.
I would like to thank everyone for their input, as always it has been for the most part helpful.
I do enjoy when we can have these talks and respect the other people involved.
So we know that the bounty makes perfect sense InRP and it seems that this is where the majority would like it to stay, count it as lore without anyone getting money.
I am shocked that there was soo many advocating meta gaming one way or another but what can you say eh?
One thing I will state again since it seems it has taken quite a few pages to get this idea across.
This is not about causing hurt to any body or any faction.
Hell if it did hurt your activity then drop me a PM and it would be fixed.
Now I shall sit back and ponder for a while and you may all continue discussions as long as you like here.:)
