Wow, that is honestly impressive... love the color scheme, but maybe saturating them and darkening them a bit would add more to the distinctiveness and "junker" feel.

P.S. I don't mean to thread jack, but how would I go about creating my own textures based on ones already in the game/mod?

You extract them from the game using the FL CMP import filter and Milkshape and edit them in some kind of paint program like The GIMP. Textures can be extracted as JPEG, BMP or Targa images. The Lancers Reactor web site has a tutorial and the import filter. I had problems getting the FL import filter to work with Milkshape 1.8.x from the Milkshape web site so you may have to search around for a 1.7.x version.

Yup. Check.

The ship is a little above 7500 but doing several LODs would help... will need to spend maybe not this weekend but next reading up on ship definitions and tutorials.

The Rhineland BS is about 16k polys unless the CMP import utility (by Kurt Fitzner) is lying, which it could be as it doesn't work very well on the R BS (but Liberty and Bret cap ships are imported without problem).

The textures were just stuck on as a vague idea, they'll be changed.... It would be cool if windows had their own effects...:)

Things to do: 1. See if polys can be reduced without sacrificing detail (removing invisible internal surfaces for a start). 2. texture it properly (time consuming). 3. do everything needed to export it to FL as a fully working model (the big step:))

I've been wodering, there's a discussion about adding some Starlancer ships on another thread.
If normal FL ships have that many polys, then how many do the SL ones have?

Older game = less detail = less plusy I presume.

Btw, how much of a problem would it be to snatch those SL modls, give them some a bit better textures and fit them for FL?

Okay the Punisher LF now needs to be textured.

Armor: 8500
Guns/Turrets: 6/0
Max Wep Class: 10
Additional Mounts: CM, M, T/CD

it should have 4 class 10 2 class 9 and manuver as well as the Ravens Talon.



note: it should use the hitbox of the hawk.

Ok just wondering how that kind of firepower is classed as a Light Fighter?

If you look at armour and stuff maby make it a Heavy Fighter?

Those stats.... add 500 more armor and it's a full-fledged class 10 VHF!

Anyway... I'll first question the look of that thing. I don't see much resemblance to the Vanilla designs... sorry, maybe it's just me... dunno. Second, really, those stats you propose... I'd nerf it a bit... more, much more.

my next ship started out as idea for new xeno GB..but since in last two betas they cant fly nothing bigger then VHF this may serve as nice "civilian" GB...agile but not very strong on weapons department (only 4 or 5 turrets and CD) with hull from about 60 to 80 k....mainly to be used as trader escort in dangerous parts of Sirius...and naturally like any other civilian ship can be bought by all...

however if xenos get permission to fly some of cap ships (then dont need anything bigger then GB IMO) this ship will be theirs...what can i say...i am not objective on this matter :)

It has a lot of Liberty in it's looks to be Order... with the new cruiser posted recently, I'd say we have two new Order ships...
