Powerplaying - Colonel Z.e.r.o. - 07-09-2008 ' Wrote:Oke, Here it goes This is like putting a road block to slow down traffic. The cops don't care if it's fair they're here to eleminate the criminal threat. It fits into rp well Although I understand the concept of fair play. I've told numerous people to stand down whilst I engage a lone enemy. I've also stood back and let others fight their battles. Because I stopped believing in jumping lone enemies like that. However I've been a victim of this thing plenty of times. Hell I witnessed three unioner bomber jump a BH gs in front of the ring. I also saw a Hessian cruiser and two OC destroyers and 3 bombers attack a single BH GS (same guy). I was also attacked by several OC destroyers in my huntress cruiser which I hadn't even properly gotten the tag or id. which was going to be zoner All they said was "YOU CAN'T FOOL IS HUNTRESS" (I doubt they even scanned me) Another time I was jumped after leaving the system I had died in (I wasn't even allowed to dock so I couldn't rearm or get nanos) so in the end I got followed by a rogue GB and hacker GS and was killed before I even landed on the nearby planet. What they say "Oh you just suck get over it" It's just bad form. I admit I've done this it a times where I've attacked without warning. But I've never taunted (which was often done OORP to me). Need to learn proper Etiquette not necessarily in this situation but in terms generally I always say things like good form (or something after a fight even if I lose. To encourage players to keep fighting and have fun while we're doing it. When you let a win g to you head and start saying condescending that's when need to check yourself. Seriously it's cool to mess with people, but declaring your own personal Jihad against someone just isn't cool. So know that when nobody but you is having fun, it's time to stop what you're doing. ~00 Powerplaying - worldstrider - 07-09-2008 Junkers are not "like Mafia". More like "hoodlums" or "gangs". People may suspect they are like mafia but Junkers don't act in ways that make them appear like that to the public. This would be the equivalent of seeing a teenager putting a tree branch in the road. You wouldn't call out swat to terminate him. And if an independent cap ship had done that, bet the sentiments here would be entirely different. Powerplaying - Horon - 07-09-2008 I've a suggestion I have thought for a while would be a good solution to help cut down on the capital ships, and that is to require people to register it IN RP on the forums before they buy it. I don't mean a simple post, I mean having a group of people in charge of this, and if you want a battleship, then submit the RP for owning it, to someone in the group. Maybe even do this for battlecruisers, because, every time I go into Rheinland anymore, I see at least 2 different BH BC's outside NB... Also going to make a new thread to discuss this idea. That is here. Powerplaying - Vero - 07-09-2008 Well I stopped flying my Indi Outcasts character around Liberty pretty much because of Liberty Cap ships. (There you are flying 10 k from the nearest trade lane in Texas in your Sabre and theres a Navy tagged VHF on scanners. The two of you engage and are having a nice sporting battle when suddenly theres a Liberty Battleship cruising up to you and boom! I think the quote was and down he goes. I find that I dont have a good time in that situation so the Sabre is back in Alpha) So now Im just a trader and I never have to worry about cap ships anymore. So theres my solution to cap ships. I just avoid interacting with them for the most part. Powerplaying - sovereign - 07-09-2008 There are a number of good indie caps that will stay away from fighter duals and more that will do so if asked (Liberator America, we love you) and most tagged caps will do the same. There will always be a few spoilsports, but that's what we have bombers for. Join the Liberty Rogues. Powerplaying - teschy - 07-09-2008 ' Wrote:Junkers are not "like Mafia". More like "hoodlums" or "gangs". I was the one attacking him, for these two reasons: 1. He was disrupting the tradelane. 2. He was attacking a trader. I never called in the battleship nor any other backup. It just came through the tradelane, and got disrupted. You think he would have let me die out there and continue his flight ? Not really... Powerplaying - jimmy Patterson - 07-10-2008 its like a us navy DDG(missle dessie) patroling and seeing a tomcat group with a hostile fighter he would fire at it to help his firends Powerplaying - Laowai - 07-10-2008 uurgghh Its unsporting of a cap ship to enter a fight without being asked by his team-mates. So on that side your complaint is warranted... however... try being in the XA - this happens all the time, Role Play around it. Sportsmanship on this server exists - but you will find its lack all over, some players are desperate for their pvp win and dont really care. Its the unfortunate reality of a people populated game really Powerplaying - Zelot - 07-10-2008 ' Wrote:uurgghh Yet again I defer to Laowai's wisdom. Powerplaying - n00bl3t - 07-10-2008 ' Wrote:And if an independent cap ship had done that, bet the sentiments here would be entirely different. What sentiments? It'd be pitchforks on fire that were coming out if it were an independent, or should it be said a less favoured independent. ' Wrote:uurgghh Well said. |
