RE: why we behave like arseholes on the internet towards each other. - Di'taraAlpha - 08-06-2013 Quote:"the internet" has simply given us the tools to express how or what we actually are. As a person or as a species. Couldn't agree more. By removing social barriers and encouraging information saturation you provide people with the tools to empower/socially liberate themselves, exchange information, explore every walk of life possible. This generally leads to people finding a voice. There's no fear when conversing with someone online, I mean, would you honestly call someone a total dickwad behind their back in reality? (no offence to the poster of course). The very fact you can call a total stranger who lives on the opposite side of the world a Fag and then joke on good terms like you've known them their entire life proves that the internet has a place in this world. And just you try surviving five minutes without it. RE: why we behave like arseholes on the internet towards each other. - Nephos.Draco - 08-07-2013 Hmm...Interesting. RE: why we behave like arseholes on the internet towards each other. - Space Eater - 08-07-2013 People are assholes to each other over the internet because they seldom have to face a direct consequence of their actions. 'nuff said. EDIT: And I don't exactly believe that the internet is in some way revealing people for their true and only selves, rather, I believe it is allowing us to express parts of ourselves we may not show in the real world. |
