RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - Hone - 09-09-2013 What? RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - CadaverCII - 09-09-2013 I mean I take away from it, which I agree with, people have different play styles. I thought about how I could put it into words and I finally managed to come up with a better way of voicing my reasoning. If you are in a war zone, like the Middle East, and you trade and deal with people there is a matter of strength behind words that must be there. I can tell you from personal experience it is this; words are multiplied by strength, and useless by themselves. Basically you can deal with people regularly, from the top to the bottom of an organization. But if you find yourself in a situation where you are carrying a pistol, and the other person has a rifle when you so happen to be carrying something they want; the size of the pistol becomes small or non-existant. Organizations like the Junkers existed, and exist because they are able to barter, and trade to get what they need and survive, but also have force to back there words. The enforcer side of these organizations should never be forgotten, because they have a strong purpose. Don't see the connection Because during the reply I was writing a very similar topic for a new thread, which I've posted, so that train of thought sort of followed. Sorry. In fact, I think several factions with caps should not have them. It's just not appropriate for a faction that relies so heavily on being beneath notice. I tend to agree with the highlighted portion here. But, if the Junkers are such great scrappers, and (though they ARE the Mafia) in theory spend all this time cleaning up battlefields, How is it they couldn't cobble together a psuedo-battlecruiser? Much like the Salvager is a GB/Transport mix - couldn't Junkers make a Transport/BC mix? Maybe something that is used for salvaging and defending larger wrecks? Like a larger Salvager that could mount, say half the compliment of ordnance that a normal BC would? I've always imagined something like a horseshoe crab, that hovered over large wrecks with cranes and claw-arms dangling down below to tear apart wrecks, and big enough guns on the top to ward off predators. And a bit of armor too - something the Junker ships are woefully short on, yet they salvage megatons of it daily. Just riffin' here. RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - sindroms - 09-09-2013 Junkers are unique for blurring the border of ship types. Recycler, the Salvager and so on. So a BC could be pretty suited for them. Especially if we could get only 5 turrets on it (one of them a BS primary one) and a cargo hold around 1000. You know. Kusari pew pews. Tho I suppose one would have to give something similar to the Hogosha.... I could envision one of these sitting in a scrap field acting as a miner, surrounded by a small flotilla of Junker haulers to take away the bits. And realistically, there is so little Junker v Hogosha combat, the need isn't really there. Besides, a single Hog bomber could probably make short work of an undefended hybrid Xport/BC ...still just riffin' here RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - Hone - 09-09-2013 I wouldnt mind either way, theres arguments for and against. Be some nice variety though... And itd have to be a BS sized BC. RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - Lythrilux - 09-09-2013 .:j:. are the reason Junkers are so lame. They're just silent powertradering Zoners but with a Junker ID. They also represent the ID poorly. The amount of times other players have harrased my Indie Junker because he doesn't use his ID the same way the Congress do... I hope to make a proper Junker faction someday. Still brainstorming 8| RE: Junkers Overlooked (Junker Feedback) - Hone - 09-09-2013 To be fair they sometimes do decent forum RP. |
