Whilst I do believe in game actions seriously need to have a bigger impact on the server, rather than having people who lose in game wars win the RP war, I don't think your suggestion is on the right track to achieving that.

Definitely no. It would just promote "we must win at all cost with minimum losses" attitude over "let´s all have fun together" which we need in fights and battles. So more ganking, drama, qq etc. We already have more than enough of bad attitude now.

This is not a competition who wins over who. It's participation in active game environment.
You are an actor. And actors don't win or lose over some other actor. They just play their roles.

And we tried removing the death messages quite some time ago if I recall, just makes bounty collecting almost impossible.
This ain't a 'Clan Wars' style server, we don't need stats, the PrtScr button is enough for those who collect kills anyway.

If I remember correctly cannon put something like this in a long time ago for a short period.

in Leeds there was a NPC kill and player kill counter between KNF and BAF. but the reasons for which escape me now. it definitely existed though.

I think it's better if the storyline affects the player interactions, and not viceversa. Otherwise it leads to too much controversy, tears and butthurt across the galaxy.

no.

they had one of these counters on flu24/7, and it meant that everyone joined the biiiig faction with all the kills. and then the big faction was too biiiiig, so the little factions all joined up and ganked it until the biiiig faction went away.

and then the meta faction had no-one to fight, and then the server activity died and then we all came to disco.

moral: the lore is the lore - the actual effect of stuff in the game creates politics and shizzle like that, and takes the fun away and makes it more like real life. the same situation above happened in eve too
