The Advanced Deep Scanner seems to be the best one to get or the Advanced Cargo Scanner!!

Whatever you do don't sell it to npc's, just put it on an unused char so that you can sell it for heaps of credits in the marketplace in a few months/years.

how exactly would i put it in an unused character? you can't transfer equipment between characters.
If i had known about this earlier i would have kept it, but i gave all my Omicroner ships to a friend. Maybe my little freighter might still have one.
But if it is discontinued, what good would it do to sell it?

Discounted stuff usually have no value anymore, people get rid of them so they become quite rare quite fast. And rare items have a lot of value for collectors.
