Indeed it does. Though I find there's no harm in learning about the way other people see the world... you might just learn something new, even if you don't change your own beliefs.

Remember that all ideas true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense. :P

I understand your view, and I expected that, but I have my reasons.

Anyways, isn't there a faction being formed to go along with the Green Eagle business? Seems like I heard something about that...

Um guys..... Discordianism is not meant to be a "real" religion. It's a parody on real religions, along the same lines as Flying Spaghetti Monster and whatnot. Although some would say, "ha ha only serious":P

Religion in Discovery - Exile - 11-02-2008

The somewhat Core members of the late Hideyoshi's Guard we're "religious". I wrote up a little something about a buncha gods called "The five and two". Was actualy quite fun. Shame there ain't more around.

There is already one big religion on the server, it even has it's commandments:

2.1 Thy shalt not cheat
2.3 Thy shalt not hack the server
2.4 Thy shalt not threath to hack
3.1 Thy shalt not use coarse language

etc.

The game is set somethousand years into the future, if we look at our own world, we see that religion is becoming less important already. So it isn't unlikely that religion will die out for the most part, with only a few religious groups left. Also it wouldn't be too big of a surprise if that big war that caused everyone to move away from the sol-system was started due to religious conflicts (same as we see in the real world, directly or indirectly). So maybe to prevent that from happening again, they decided to ban religion.

And thats how they got the name, religious bags...

The Church of the Green Eagle.

Agnus Dei

TAZ's discordism, or whatever it's called.
We have, enough, I believe. But if it was furthered, I don't think it would be a bad thing.

Okay, this is the first AND the last time.
Outcasts are some sort of neo-christians... Nomads are refered as Great Spirits or Angels, because they "watch" upon dead ones. They are not being worshiped...

Maybe in the Western World religion is dying out a little, but I think it still has alot of influence on day to day affairs. For example (and please don't take this wrong) if you would count how often Bush used the word God when talking about the war in Irac, you would be supprised. Or to take a look at the opposing faction (terrorists), I think you can say that almost 99% of terorist attacks have to do with a clash of religions. It may seem like religion is fading away into the night, but facts are it isn't.

O and ofcourse you still have that famous sentence: "Religion is the opium of the people" (i think it was Marcks who said that.)

Religion in Discovery - Zygoeths - 11-02-2008

Don't refer to us as the "west".... We are the united states of america, were a country damn it, not a direction.

On another note, religion is a sparse, for money, power, control, and even war. Now i believe in an afterlife, and a god, BUT i do not believe in religion. If you really think about it, almost all wars were caused by "religion". So the leaders of these groups who know it's not real, make the people who think it's real do there bidding....

The only religious group i know of (or semi religious anyway) are the Outcast. EDIT: in freelancer. And for the love of god, is the server gonna be down for like 3 days?

Yes, we're recruiting again and i hope, with my last recrue, to see Agnus Dei growing.

We are writing more and more about history and religious part of Agnus Dei.
