GMG enforced their law on me yesterday in Omi Theta. Said he saw me 10K away in 17 so he could follow me to Theta and enforce Guild laws there. (BTW, was carrying food) So, I guess it is open. @sindroms The problem with doing this as a "test" is that you aren't going to see evidence of a lack of something like this. You wouldn't be able to point at RP that didn't happen because the space wasn't there to do it, and you won't be able to point to O3 and O7 specifically, because it is a larger issue that just these two systems. There is no metric to measure lost opportunity in Disco. Not about the RM and BAF or this spot specifically I think, but in general, part of what makes this game such a classic is the wild west kind of mentality behind the border worlds and rim worlds. We have pretty much removed that from that game at this point. Everything is some houses' space. The Sigmas belong to the GMG, The Omicrons are split between the Sairs and the OC, the Omegas are split between the Sair and the Hessians and now BAF and RM. There is no wild west anymore in Disco, no place that is not under the law of this group of players or that and it can really be detrimental to the development of RP. Anyone who wants to rp something, almost anywhere in Sirius at this point has to get some player's permission to do it. There should be places that aren't under anyone's control, places where there is no law aside from the law of the gun. Such a huge part of the excitement of the SP was moving out of house space, feeling like you really were in a place where there were no laws. When you want to start a new group, a new station, and new rp of any kind, you have to go through the list of people you need to get permission from, and if you don't, oh boy, you will have an admin sponsored smack down on it. I would be less concerned if I thought that official factions were interested in helping individuals and the server as a whole to allow for everyone to create interesting rp, but everything I have seen since I returned and everything I have been told makes me think that official factions are really just in it to get bells and whistles for their own players, and to feel like big men pushing other people around. Because I can't trust official factions to be supportive of non-faction members trying to do interesting things, there should be space where the Houses, including the Sairs and OC, don't have jurisdiction, and can't enforce their laws and wills on other players. It's important to have that kind of "wilderness" of the game. What he said.100%. RE: Admin Notice: ZOI changes for RM, BDM, BAF and BIS. - Felipe - 12-21-2016 About o-3 and o-7, simple quest: unlawfuls simple jump out of reach, aaaand guess what, still same, as they just need go one system more, so as i see, no big deal, old or new rules. If matter being discussed was made o-3 and 0-7 free for all, far West like, that would be nice, for some days, untill traders give up, as it is now, i really already prefer dont trade in o-7 anymore, as one lost trip kill profit of the other one, and most of times youll get pirated in both, with at least 10 mills lost. Pirate players would enjoy, as i said, until traders simple change routes. Its sometimes hard to find a miner to help fill a ship, tell me about escorts, and if come to this, better pay 10 mills for pirates or escort? I really only want to know if Omicron Theta is free space or not. RE: Admin Notice: ZOI changes for RM, BDM, BAF and BIS. - Gagadug. - 12-21-2016 This change wont change much for the average player in O3 or O7, it just allows the two involved factions to do what they agreed to long time ago, beeing able to give assistance when there is a big threat. This will not allow RM indies to patrol O3 nor BAF indies to patrol O7 because that is still against the houses laws. The only change is that now up to a few fighters of RM or BAF can move to help the other military out on request, and that we can follow people jumping through the O7 gate without checking if we were within 10k. Apart from that if you have any concerns regarding the RP or general behavior of BAF| players, we got a feedback thread and you always can PM @AlphaWolf215 @Thunderer or me. There is no "Free Space" if you don't something in Theta the Sairs, don't like, they will roll in on you, if you do something the Order doesn't like, they will roll in on you, if you do something the GMG doesn't like, they will roll in on you. If you do something the Jellies don't like, they will roll in on you, if you do something the OC don't like, they will roll in on you. As soon as an ID has the ZoI, every indie can do whatever he wants to do there. You cannot even use FR2 because as long as the players adhere to the ID, the official factions have zero say. Your roleplay is not cannon, therefore every BAF indie can park a BS at the STU gate in O7, or any RM indie can part a Turtle at the CAM Gate in O3. For the average player maybe. But who is looking for the more than average rper. The person who wants to explore rp that other people don't get. I don't think you get the gist of my concern, it's not about the BAF or RM or any player individually, it's about a larger issue that this personifies. When you start having "guilds", former groups of space pirates, and minor groups of freemen setting up "laws", and "controlled space", acting like alternative governments where house governments didn't acted due to vanilla borders, how can you expect "wilderness space" to remain like that? Any loss of sense of wilderness is caused by the players doing stuff there, not the admins. House factions reacting to that (when inrp permissible), and admin tweaking lines and definitions because of them ( and unlawful actions), is only a logical consequence. RE: Admin Notice: ZOI changes for RM, BDM, BAF and BIS. - Laura C. - 12-21-2016 I wonder if people realize that this actually does not change much. This has nothing to do with disappearing of "wild west" systems as some claim. These systems could be patrolled by lawfuls before and -were- meant to be patrolled by them. Only difference is that now sometimes RM can go patrol/shoot Hessians into O-3 too and BAF to O-7, nothing more. It happens rarely anyway. By the way, how about not trying to create wild west in systems where it does not make sense at all? It caused enough nonsense by now through rules which in fact sterilized diplomacy roleplay and over time killed several possible roleplay opportunities for intelligence factions. Omega-3 and 7 are covered by trade lanes and has corporate bases and lawful staging point, why do you think they are same like Galileo or Omega-9? Because those are these places perfect for wild west mentality, not vital systems with lawful presence which serve as super important trade route. Up to this point any indie could park his BAF BS at Cam gate and his RM Turtle at Stut gate anyway, so what will change except used ID and type of battleship? But mainly, how often this happens please? RE: Admin Notice: ZOI changes for RM, BDM, BAF and BIS. - Felipe - 12-21-2016 (12-21-2016, 04:00 PM)WPeregrine Wrote:(12-21-2016, 03:42 PM)Wizard.
