Villians are, generally, fun. You do need to be very careful of deeply offending anyone or otherwise making the lives of other players miserable, but this is a topic that has been done before, to many different levels of quality, and I'm sure will be done again.
I am not at all of the opinion that "we're bad people doing dangerous science" is an over-used trope, or that yall won't have a great time.

I would personally deplore this idea, but it's a matter of opinion. In any case, just be aware that Bretonia is neutral towards Outcasts, but such a venture could potentially place that in jeopardy.
