' Wrote:All right, I guess ill just explore the different factions. I read a post where some what to me seemed to be smaller groups (player created groups perhaps?) were outfitting new recruits with ships and weapons! Maybe it was a scam Im really not sure. I am going to start playing 2-3.5 hours a day varying starting later this week. Hopefully some people will add me as friend incase I have in-game problems. Thanks again everybody.

No scam. Some factions will help you get equipped. You would be expected to respond to their kindness by not making their faction look stupid or by running off with the money and equipment.

Yeah thanks, that was a lot of help. No one worry, im very into RP. I just want to feel Bad-A**. But mainly just be competitive when my faction is raiding another. Thanks again!

I play on multiple servers, but what I love about Discovery is the self imposed restrictions that leads to Sirius having real personality. If I want to PvP I go elsewhere, if i want a vibrant and more realistic setting I come here. Please take in the sound advice above me - it will really help & read the rules more then once.

My friend and I use Ventrillo, but could easily switch to skype. I just want to get into the action/high level RP fast.

not a good thing, you can RP off the bat, but it gets hard to PVP in the bieggining

So even though my friend and I are low level we wont be...attacked by everyone :O. I get the impression from what I have read that it is very hard to level up and get money with all of the pirating shenanigans performed by the non-RP, pure pvp jerks. It also seems like we will be essentially ignored because of our weakness, and while everyone will be progressing with their faction, we will be stuck attempting to catch up to our factions level just to be helpful to the faction.

attacking civilian ID'd players under level 30 is not permitted, so as long as you're under level 30 - you're safe. Well, assuming you keep a civilian ID until then, if you get a faction ID you can be attacked by enemy factions.

You will have to get a faction ID once you reach level 40, as the civilian ID cannot be used past that.

Oh ok, cool. Reading the Wiki, the Corsairs and Outcasts seem pretty fun:PAnyone here a member of those factions?

But Xfire is pretty widely used too.

This is true. Admins use skype though, so that's what I use. Also it's too late for me to switch now.
