i always thought that it should be like if your in a liberty capital for example

that another smaller ship you purchased undocks on your command and your big ship becomes like a station just for you to dock with and when you dock you retake control

you can take control of smaller ship and dock with stations then

Why don't we just get rid of mooring fixtures and docking rings?

Alternatively, rather than disapearing when you dock, your ship becomes locked where it is, and invulnerable.
If you log out, it dissapears.

If possible, that would be awesome. But the FL code does not allow this.

You can't remove the mooring fixtures or docking rings. Not in any mod I've ever seen anyway, and I'm pretty sure it's not possible.

In-RP we would die trying to land without one. I suppose we could always write up a new technology infocard for landing, however, I think there needs to be some object outside the planet.

(JakeSG remove the Nebraska from the registry.)

What i would love to see is ships actually mooring yus. However there is a problem with this. In this suggestion are you suggestion that Capital planets can only dock four large ships?

The capital planets may have to end up with a ring of sorts on which the ships would moor instead.

Overall an ace idea i like it.

Actually I'd like to see the sound files be fixed first so it says "You are cleared to Moor, proceed to moor 5" instead of "You are cleared 11"

I would also like to see fighters ability to use moors be taken away.

Quote:Not sure how you'd get around equipping equipment on ground, but it doesn't make sense to only be able to on ground. Yes I know the techs are "groundside" and most pilots wouldn't be capable of doing the specialised jobs of "monkeywrenching" their engines, weapons, and shield flux capacitors.

We could put in an RP "Shuttle ferrying" Where they ferry the parts up to the Mooring Fixture. Add a timedelay for buying equipment?

Quote:But yeah, I don't foresee a way around the mounting of guns in space. People would abuse it. You'd have to either have a "drydock" station, much like at shipyards, or dock on a planet. That's the only forseeable way I can see it working for that part.

Couldn't we put in Workerbees? Little NPCs or even gfx things that swirl around your ship? Anyone play Star Trek Armada? That's what I'm thinking.

I think it would be easier to change the docking ship of a large freighter to a generic 'landing' craft upon landing. That way when you docked it would look like you climbed aboard the landing craft and flew it down to the planet or docked with the other ship. Then you load it up with supplies and fly it back.
