ARCHANGELs if you have money or Starflier skills
DULZIANs if you find them or have ridiculous Starflier skills
otherwise, GOLDEN BLADEs and CLAYMOREs have pretty nice attack range (like 750 or something).

On my Outcast bomber, I go all debs, since I only haul him out when Corsairs capspam Alpha. Debs, SNAC, Nova. Seems to work. I let my Sabres take care of the fighters, TBH.

Sammaels, Supernova, Inferno/MR, TCD. That's enough to make any Gunboat quiver in their boots, and more than enough to take down Cruisers and Battlecruisers. Only use Novas if you know how to. Alternatively, Starkillers increase the Barghests anti-fighter capabilities a lot, especially since it somewhat lacks it.
