not really though...seriously, i used to have a graphics card way back in the day that would crash freelancer SP every time i jumped to a new system. i had to take it out and use the old crappy one that was built into the motherboard just to play freelancer.....again.....and again......and again....
maybe its your graphics card, but hey, really...... if you didn't know what operating system you were using, i doubt this is any help to you at all......

Cleaning your heatsinks is easy to do. Blow air into them until they are clean - generally best to do this outside. Check that the fans are spinning when the computer is powered on.
Meh, maybe i just have to cope with it.

Just a side note. Do you have an automatic windows update on?
DirectX usually comes from there. I can't remember though if it's an optional update or "critical" update.

wow nobody thought of the chipset hes using?
Back on my old business Desktop (HP D5500 I think, I cant remember exactly) it had like 950 Intel Integrated Graphics. The problem was Jumpgates, Jump Holes, and the occasional Trade Lane cause my pc to crash and reboot.
The problem was fixed by changing something in FLConfig.
I'd give ya the file, but I lost it since my new card supports FL fine =S I'll try digging it up tho and see if it helps.
