Anyway, yes I too have found Mining frustrating in its new format, I always seem to pick the dead field. However Trading is fun too, you just need to find a route that you enjoy :D

Not an easy thing to do.

I hate the depletion effect with the new mining mod. It's frustrating.

So, instead, I go trade/smuggle, but finding an enjoyable route is about as easy as finding a specific leaf in a maple tree. I trade for the money, but I also want to get as many RP chances as possible along the way. But that's rare. 99% of the RP for a trader are "2milordai." The other 1% is "#t, halt for a cargo scan. You're clear." or "u cant tak dat here its contrebent."

Smuggling is a bit more fun, but there you get the "u cant tak dat here its contrebent." again and often it then turns into a "u smugl i shoot."

as for your slow mining and not seeing anyone else mining you just might be in a bad time zone where you log on right as most of the other miners are loging off

i miss the old mining, when there as no such thing as bonuses, no such things as ID/Ship requirements....

Bring the REAL old mining back (dun care if prices are ridiculously bad, its better then what is now)

Enough already, how many times do we need to repeat ourselves until you realize that mining is something that requires teamwork. Have multiple miners, and get somebody else to transport the ore.
The reason for the high profit is because you need to share the money among your team.

What also might help is expanding your mining operation, have several miners at several fields to increase your ore rate.
