True Fist, Most likely it would.

Boss, the mod I am referring to was the one I hosted for a time. It was called KhaosPrime by the Great Evil MSensei perhaps the oldest Freelancer Mod ever. First Mod release was March 20th 2003. Older then even Frostworks I think.

It was a wild and wooly time. People was trying things back then that they didnt know they wasent supposed to be able to do. There was no master modders back then to say it couldnt be done so everything was tried.

Many things where done in that mod I have never seen since. Like a diagonal trade lane. Can you imagine docking with a tradelane and suddenly almost going sideways? lmao Or taking a tradelane through a sun? but Im waxing nostalgic and going way off topic........ahh memories.........

heheh, that would be funny.. wait, wouldn't you just ram the sun and bounce out of the trade lane? ( rammed the sun once in open SP with a Juggernaut, it's weird, suns are solid..)

Nope, you just passed right through it. Its like passing through NPC ships, rocks or debris in a tradelane. Im sure you all have done that many times. same thing.

Wait a minute. I have an Idea. What is there was a sun that had no corona, and a tradelane that dropped you inside it. Then you could put stuff inside it. Makes absolutely no sense, but would be kind've funny.

Oh, and by the way, do coronas kill people instantly? Because I swear I've entered one and just started taking hull damage... I think I even bounced off the surface of one once.

Suns do damage over time.
There is an instant kill wall, which you die when you hit, though. Planets have these too.

How'd I bounce off a planet in me trusty patriot then? Du-wha???
And yes, I got screens for that. Did it like 20 times.

ANYWAY, back to the subject of capship changes, I believe the anti-shield mines thread got to this... hold on, retrieving my rant...

Trader shields also need some work- when I can get killed by a TRANSPORT in my high-class military hardware (bomber) because I start typing RP, something is wrong. When I can fly through the Wild Guard system in my Firefly and come out unscathed, something is very wrong. Tradeships are seriously insane- cargo space is fine, but the survivability is ridiculous. The broken hitbox on the train doesn't help either. I can (try to) pirate people, or I can fight. One or the other. >.<

Methinks anti-shield mines should not just come in the uber variety- give LFs and smuggling ships access to low level ones, but reserve the nasties for bombers/VHFs. Make it really a bomber, not so much a torpedo bomber.
