Multiple connections from same IP. - Geisha_Maiko - 04-19-2008 I would agree that having things written down is the most fair way of doing things. 'Unwritten' rules only leads to mis-commucations and trouble. My group, runs weekly lan parties and we asked permission ahead of time, to let the server admins 'in on it'. I am sure that some Admin looked at the logs and went, 'what the blazes is with that Ip address???' One player, one comp is the rule ' Wrote:Rules are rules, whats there use if Imaginary rules exist. if its not in the rules it is legal until its in the rules, simple as that. and again, just to make it absolutely clear ' Wrote:I told you no multiple accounts, and you decided to argue the point ... Yes, Korrd made FLAM for that exact purpose. Just one at a time. It just isn't possible. One of those things will always be a sitting duck, no matter how many computers you are using. And even if the server isn't full, you are messing with the ping rates for everyone else on at the same time, and that just isn't nice. In all the years I've played FL, I've met a grand total of 1 person that could fly 2 ships successfully at the same time. Multiple connections from same IP. - Cheezwiz - 04-21-2008 I'm not gonna share how I did it. That will be contributing to a problem. But I will say this; I did not argue with you, Hoodlum. I was merely expressing surprise that I was met with such hostility for a first time offense, especially to an unwritten rule. You can be rather bitter with your offenders, so I feel I need to tell you this. Each and every member of this great community(and I don't have to be here long to feel this), even those who do not contribute monetarily or would try to bend the rules to their favor, make up a whole. Each and every piece will have an impact to the whole. The justice you dispense can be rather abrasive and not something that can sustain the environment that promotes the good fun we all want. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I'm trying to be respectful while speaking what I feel. Best wishes to you. -Adam P.S. I am truly sorry for what I did.
