Personally, the only pet peeve I have is the use of Sammies versus bigger things. They got heavy DPS, very high efficiency... As long as you can keep laying on fire you'll burn through nearly anything, even gunboats (especially when paired with that shieldbuster fighter torp). But I suppose that's fitting for a pirate faction. Good at taking out slower bigger targets, not so good in fights with the navies. I'd say in group fights higher refire weapons are a plus. Spray and pray favors rapid fire weapons.

My shotgun is still very efficient, making targets lose 1/3 of hull or 10 nanobots in each volley is still very discouraging.

Meh. Leave the 8.33 alone. They are fine as they are, now that balanced up to the slower refiring guns.
The damage is okay and as mentioned already, you need to hit hard first to make it comparable with other guns, that deal more damage with less salvos.
8.33 are ideal at the moment if you ask me.

Sure against larger targets they rock hard, but against smaller targets they struggle to put out as much damage as slower guns. Exactly the way it should be
