You would be surprised how easy it is for camera ships to survive, their hitbox is nigh non-existent. Seriously, the chances of you dying are utterly minuscule, and the only battles it will matter for are vs NPC, which aren't very interesting since they cheat. Keepers have more important things/common sense than to vainly waste shots on a camera ship.
that's not what I meant.
A lot of these battles take place in nomad systems, and yes, the npc's do cheat =P Even with no hitbox they could probably blast you.
Didnt think about buying the nomad stuff though, i guess you're right. I dont even know how to get to iota =(

Seriously, Whats wrong with a freelancer ID?
If you have a camera ship and no guns, only the people who would ignore neutral ID anyway would attempt to shoot you.
as to a rep change... shouldnt you earn that? IN RP?
just because you want to take pictures, doesn't mean everyone automatically likes you.
not meaning to shoot you down, but i seriously cannot see why you need either the id or the rep change.

Buy a funboat, spend some time in Omega 52 blasting Zoner Guard and double bribing Zoners
on Gran Canaria and you'll have Freelancer tag in no time. ;)
Then buy Camera ship of course.
