Edit: Mobile is fun to work with -_- RE: Experience so far - LuckyOne - 08-10-2020 Freelancer PVP was never for the faint-hearted but Disco's pretty brutal in that regard. However it also offers more options. Just keep trying eventually you'll find something that makes you not a complete cannon fodder. If that fails try to make some friends and get into group fights, they are easier and even if you lose you'll still feel like you've contributed. If all else fails, there's PVE, base building and RP to enjoy. Something tells me you gave up already No I haven't given up ![]() I'm selling those ships because I want to do some freelancing stuff, Omicrons are too dangerous for me at the moment. Also those ships are great but the leaning curve is a little too steep for me, they can benefit some other more experienced veteran. But I'll be around the omicrons looking for trouble once I feel confident enough to keep my own. In the meanwhile, I will be in House controlled space or Conn
RE: Experience so far - Groshyr - 08-10-2020 Do not dare to engage yourself in POBs stuff. It takes really much time, nervous and ingame credits. RE: Experience so far - ONIKS - 08-10-2020 My only win in duel was against dead drunk Karst several months ago. RE: Experience so far - Piombo65 - 08-10-2020 Welcome to my world, with the exception of 2 things: -I play from 2013 -My ping is good. I achieved something decent only for the capital ships but when you realize you can't improve your skills after so much time, I suggest to do something else. Try the RP area. It's relaxing, awesome and it can be even better than PvP RE: Experience so far - Haste - 08-11-2020 If it's any consolation, the current balance team is very aware of this game's skill curve, both in caps and in snubs. Caps could be addressed with easily accessible tutorials or perhaps even something like better default keybinds (reminder you still have to manually bind vertical strafe in Discovery even though it's mandatory for PvP in just about every class in the game). Snubs have already been made significantly easier to get into than they used to be, with us reducing instakills to a minimum and significantly increasing the size of shield hitboxes, allowing newer/less skilled players to at least do some damage to better players. The tricky part is juggling skill cap along with skill floor. Ideally we want to lower the latter while leaving the former unchanged. But unlike what some people have claimed in this thread, the balance team is not some sort of "good players club" that's there to maintain its own dominance over PvP in their preferred ship classes. RE: Experience so far - Lonely_Ghost - 08-11-2020 Hey mate, don't waste your time learning to PvP in this game. Useless skills. There are plenty of PvP oriented games, with much more rewarding PvP experience, plenty of youtube "how not to suck " videos and so on. Personally, I love disco for indeed some sort of unique universe, interesting (but not flawless) story, depth of lore and general atmosphere. There is plenty of stuff besides PvP in discovery to enjoy, and if you feel, you've found them all, take a short break, and soon, you'll be glad to be back. |
