I think the base ship without the containers looks bare-bones enough. Maybe make the containers larger in diameter to fill that empty space better. Also maybe add one large container that lays axially under the spine of the ship, tucked in between the slanted containers. That one can be for large single-piece cargoes while the smaller containers carry stuff like water, raw materials, and such.

' Wrote:The model looks good, I would make the tail more smoothly rounded though, use a few more edges instead of worrying over the polygons.

Actually, I would like to echo this. I would really like to see the tail more rounded, like the Hussar/Cavalier.

That is just beautiful. I actually like that more than the current Shire model. It very much looks like it's part of the same line as the Shetland, which makes a lot more sense, since the same company makes them both. I'd make the cargo pods a bit fatter, so they look like they carry a lot of goods, but even as they are, the cargo pods look larger and more efficient than the current Shire model.

Not sure. I really do like the current Shire model. It brings the heavy transporter feeling across very well. Maybe add this as another ship and keep the Shire as it is?
(Not that I have any hope that a single opinion would change everything and save the Shire but I have to try. ^^)

Oh thank god, I hated the old shire, far too bulky and its comparative size to the shetland (which in itself, looks like it can haul 10k cargo) made it feel really inadequate, constantly getting CD'd, bumped to hell and getting traped in every other lane, I lost my mind flying it.

the lacking on the cargo pods is fine, its actually a hell of a lot more scaled to the cargo space which it has, it has to be purely for looks, as none of the transports cargo holds make sense really, zoner transport/pirate train/whale and all other such examples of too big for the ship size, or most of the 5k transports (except kusari and atrain) being too large for their cargo hold. Really not bothered about the cargo pods being too small.

And remember a key point, Bretonian ships are NOT heavy, they're mediumish but most importantly curved and deceptive in their looks, the Gunboat is the exception (though still very curvy) but I'm strong of the opinion that the bret gunboat wasnt really intended to be a gunboat of similiar use to most other gunboats in disco (its more of a liberty cruiser for bretonia, with the huge gun).

The image is gone, and has been replaced by an image missing badge. Could it be reposted, because I kinda want to see what the Shire Mk II looks like.

Ditto, and I like my current shire, so would like to see what the revised concept is.

Wow... That's incredibly... Different. That's a big leap from the old model.

One thing that does stand out is the rounded cargo pods, which to me implies it's specialised to certain cargo types. Rounded isn't exactly space efficient when you're hauling rectangular cargo units.
