TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - Korrd - 01-20-2006 192.168.x.x is the internal IP. the other one is the router/modem/hub IP. If the router has a firewall, you need to open a port, or fordward it to the port where the program is listening. The external IP changes because most ISP's use to asign dynamic IP via DHCP. A dinamical IP changes every x amount of time determined by the ISP. It also changes every time you reconect. TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - Virus - 01-20-2006 It wasn't ACTUALLY changing.... It just seemed like it. Now, if what your saying is true, then I have no access to my router's firewall. Why? You may ask. Well.... EVERY computer in my house is wireless. The f**king idiot who set up our wireless decided to make it impossible for anyone other than him to change anything, and that you HAVE to put the computers 'mac' code into the router before you can connect. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS! I also have no idea how to change the settings on the router because ITS NOT CONNECTED TO ANY COMPUTERS! I hate my network. >:( There goes my server idea. MOTHER F***ER! I can't wait till I get my hands on that guy and force him to just put a password on it! D:< If anyone knows how I may gain access to my base station/router thingy, could you PLEASE PLEASE tell me? It just seemed like it.If i were you i will do 2 things regarding this situation: 1) Beat the technician who made your network to death ;). The F***ER CANT deny you the password of YOUR ROUTER! In fact, given that he knows a lot of sensitive information of your network, he might use that information to gain access to the network from a laptop outside your house. Thats unaceptable. 2) Take that network and re-made it the way it meant to be made. You might want to learn a bit of networking. There are lots of tutorials on the Internet. Just google a bit. :) TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - [SF]Just_Josh - 01-20-2006 Guys I may start a Ventrilo server. I will make a new post bout it. thats all. And you need the computers MAC number on it, which I have recently learned is non-changable and is on the wireless card. His laptop can't connect, there are only three computers on it, I've seen the list. My laptop, my older brothers Mac and my parent's desktop. And.... I'm not sure how to gain access to the router since its not physically wired to any computer. It doesn't even show up in My Network Places. >:( ITS NOWHERE! All I know is he used the web browser get access. And yes, once he makes it normal, I'm going to beat him to death then throw his body in Lake Michigan, after stealing my dad's boat and driving it to Northern Michigan. :) No one will ever know. :) TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - Firebird - 01-20-2006 Virus,Jan 20 2006, 12:35 PM Wrote:Problem is..... First assuming you are using Windows. The MAC address for your computer is easy to obtain (you probably know how to do it by using ipconfig, not sure just ask or google it). Accessing the router can be done either wirelessly by a computer that has access or direct connection using an ethernet cable. Once having a direct connection, the router has a fixed IP for accessing its configuration utility (at least thats how mine works). The configuration utility is accessable by entering the IP in a web-browser. Example try entering "http://192.168.1.1/" into a computer directly connected to the router. If that's the correct address, you'll be asked for a user name and password to access the router. Once you're passed that you can reconfigure the MAC filter to add any wireless computer you want to add, you can add encryption, whatever you want. TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - Virus - 01-20-2006 Well.... I don't need the MAC number for any computer, but this is helpful. If it works, I'll let you know. Thanks a bunch! TeamSpeak Discovery Server. - Virus - 01-20-2006 Man.... I hate technology. :( Now where might I find the user manual.... I totally forgot about that. It might have come with one. If not, then I'll have to do it Korrd's way. |
