I hate by forced to do anything, all what I "whining" about is situation where people who do not want or ho not have Skype are treat worse, as a species of subhuman.

I've been in about three skype calls since coming back to discovery, I usually just type. It's a fairly decent way of keeping track of the latest targets of opportunity, knowing when your faction friends are in trouble, and finding out just who's penis is larger. Apparently number of caps is a large factor in the equation.

Then deal with whatever situations may happen out of you not having Skype and wanting to participate when it comes to most of the official factions where Skype is listed as a requirement. Some factions may work also without Skype, others don't. Nobody is treating you as a human worse just because you do not have Skype, they're just shrugging you off because you just cannot be assed to get a program which makes communications so much easier.

if you cant show enough dedication to do a 15 minute installation for a faction you want to apply to, why should the faction want you? i wouldn't.
random faction chatter is good to strengthen the bonds between faction members - ultimately making the gameplay more enjoyable.
