I still don't like the mining system, but it's better than before I suppose. But smaller ships now are forced to wait for a customer before they can start mining rather than building up a supply and selling it on then.

The small miners can still mine into their own cargo hold and then jettison the ore into space (and repeat) until a transport arrives, then mine directly into the transport. It's not as good as before all these changes but I wouldn't say they are "forced" to wait.

Quote:- Changed mining so that if you target another ship, you'll fill its hold rather than your own. This allows small mining ships to fill the holds of other ships directly.

Amazing... never would have thought of that.

One more problem as been solved.... this has indeed been a productive week:D

Kudos to you oh great one [Image: emoticon-0139-bow.gif]

@tomtom:

I kinda like it. It makes working in packs more effective.

Mining turrets

Result: 741 units in 10 minutes.

Opinion: Both the drop rate and spawn rate seem too low.

Thank you, this is the information I needed.

For all of you asking about this, there is and always has been a way to de-select a target in Freelancer and just go back to having nothing targeted.

The default for this is Ctrl-T.

- What mining fields are dropping too little (or too much)? I'd like real data to back up your opinion please. Mine a field for 10 minutes and post the results here. Remember to include your ship/guns/id/iff.
dunno if it already was changed.
but silver in omega 7
~10 mins
~600-700 units
at the very end of the day.
so maybe it was just cause the powahminers were faster.

' Wrote:Could you add the eco chaingun to the mining turrets please? It's easier to use on the smaller ships like the basalt...
or a simple cl2 mining gun would be great...

After 3 days of sporadic mining in the Dublin Molly field, I hit the "Zero Drop" today at 16:30 CET for the first time.

Drops were rather okay before.

Perhaps that helps others to assess the fields.

And, Cannon: I love the new features! You rock!!!

I wonder, would it be possible to make NPCs think that caps are massive formations of snubs?

Alternatively, make them die when they ram me -.-

About the mining/targeting feature...

didn't like the solution for small crafts, because as a miner you target quite some people around you.

maybe make some command to select a ship that can recieve your mined ore.
/mark hauler or something like that.
and the hauler must be within 1k.
